Willow Metro Park Golf Course -Great layout
The course was in very good shape for early season. The staff was welcoming and pace of play was good. The cost was great! I will plan to golf the course several more times this season.
A little slower than normal
Played slower than usual.. group in front of us seemed to be employees as they had working employees stopping by to chat. Asked the ranger for some help and he basically implied that he couldn't do anything.
Terrible
Got yelled at by the Marshall for something we were not doing. Were paired with random and they stood yp for us. We got racially profiled. Pace of play was terrible. Took way too long to go 18 holes close to 6 hours. Terrible. Never coming back
Overall not the best metropark I been to
I have been to all the metropark course. This one comes last. Overbooked!! Way too many ppl playing. Course pace of play was terrible took me 5ish hours to do 18 holes. Every hole had to wait 30 minute. Than the group in front was leaving the flags down o n the green and the marshal had the nerve to come to me and my buddy that was paired with random guys and tell us that we will be kicked if we keep doing that. We were profiled for not doing anything. Our other 2 randoms of our group let the guy know the situation after we did and finally Marshall left and went to talk to those fellas. Did not give us an apology for being rude and disrespectful. Overall course seems nice but way to many ppl and price we paid I expect to be a let to play at a better pace and not get yelled by the employees for nothing
Tee Boxes were rough.
Tee box surfaces were pretty beaten up and uneven, which was in stark contrast to the rest of the course, which was in great shape!
Course bad feature
Back nine tees are terrible. Front tees good I have played there .any time this was the worse shape
Terrible condition
Worst condition I've ever seen this course , shouldn't be open if this is how they're gonna maintain it
Great course for the money
Great course. Seems like the course stays wet. Some gimick holes but will definitely be back.
Open, but lagging behind.
Generally speaking I like Willow but this round was a bit disappointing. A few small things added up. 1. They’ve been open for a few weeks and the tee markers are not out yet. 2. Several pin positions haven’t been changed for quite a while and the edges were very ragged. 3. Many tees have dozens, maybe even hundreds of divots which haven’t been repaired. 4. I don’t often stop at the turn to get anything but Willow makes a great egg salad sandwich so I went in to get one only to be informed that the grill/sandwich making operation wasn’t open. The greens were in decent shape other than the old pins. Erie Metropark golf course, another nearby Huron-Clinton Metropark course, was in full operation with tees out, full grill in operation and fresh cut pins in place. Not sure why Willow’s not at the same status.
Difficult but fun.
I love this downriver course. It has a few difficult holes and you feel like you are up north.
Good to get out.
Couse was what I expected for early spring.. couple of drawbacks however.. no tee markers and bunkers look like they weren't touch since last season... but I know that it will get better as it warms up..
