Winter golf in Missouri
For mid January it was just fine. Can’t wait to see it in warm weather!

The greens are some of the very best in the entire Kansas City area. The course has a great layout and the staff is very friendly.
Hidden Gem
Shirkey is a fun course worth the drive. Greens are fast but in excellent condition. They have recently removed some trees and done some nice clearing work around a lake and a pond. Mature tree lined fairways. Looks like they added some brand new Yamaha carts to the mix.
Wonderful course!
Have played here maybe 10 times, am knocked out by the removal of a lot of the overgrown areas along some of the water holes. It has opened up the course to a beautiful line of sight of the other holes. Players will lose a lot less balls which will improve speed of play. Clubhouse staff is always very friendly and make you feel like they appreciate you I have a course 10 minutes from my house and I will drive the 30 minutes to Shirkey's 9 times out of 10.
Worth the drive
This course has a challenging layout. They were short staffed when I arrived, but once I got checked in it was a good experience. The greens were quite hard, and difficult to keep balls on the green. Aside from the tough greens I enjoyed the round and would play the course again.
A wonderful out of town escape
Very nice course and people. A great bargain worth the drive.
My hot deal was taken over by a tournament.
Shirkey is a great place to play. However 8/15/20 i bought 2 18 hole hot deals for 10:30am. We were on number 11 when the course was flooded with carts playing in a FULL shotgun start. The eintire course was taken over immediately as we still had 8 holes remaining of our 18 hole hot deal. Very bad communication between course and GoLfNOW. This should not happen. Very upset.
Work in Progress
I had played this little track about 10 years ago. Did not notice many changes from that time. Conditions were similar to then. Greens roll great but are, what some would call, postage stamps. Very small and tough targets to hit. Fairways offer many challenges with all the rolling hills and difficult lies. Tee boxes are in need of much work. Lots of weeds of various types. Course appears to be progressing though. Lots of work going on near the lakes. Overall, nice little country course to spend an afternoon enjoying the outdoors.
Hole in one
Very pleased with this course. Went and played a round with my nephews. Hit a hole in one on #2. The overall course conditions were great. Cart paths in nice shape. Greens overall condition was good. Nice challenging layout. Had a great time playing this course and will definitely be back and recommend it to others. The reason I rated it a 4 was I’m still waiting for them to get back to me on my hole in one as they said they would. I understand it may not be important to them but they should know it is important to a customer and player. Had a great time though!

A bit of a drive from KC, but worth it. Course is a good test. Greens are good. Have to keep the ball in the fairway. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
