Shirkey is a fun course with lots of open area if you need it

Pleasantly surprised!
Very nice course
Surrounded by some nice lakes and very nice homes.
Great tract
Very challenging layout from the back tees. Fairways were mostly sloped either from right to left or left to right. Except for the par 5s, most fairways were sloped against the direction of the doglegs. Greens were in good condition and relatively quick.
Solid Course
Had a good time at Shirkey. We hit a hot deal and played with no traffic (97 degrees w no wind may have helped) that day. Staff is very friendly, beatable yet challenging layout, condition was great except the dead parts of the green. Unlike some of the other courses we played recently, they at least put the pin far away from the dried out spots. Greens start out slow and got faster the deeper into the course we got.
Improving
Golf course is not the hidden gem it was in the 80's and 90's, but it is still worth the drive to go and play. Greens are still in good shape, just not at the speeds they had before.
Pretty fun
This was a good course to play greens were a pretty difficult and fast honestly and it’s a very open course allows for a little error which is awesome

Great course!
Course was fabulous! Will give you all you want. 3 pars are all legit. Course was in ok shape for the time of year here. The day we played the wind was 25 to 30 mph gusts and 48 degrees. Brutal but fun.... green speed were all over the place, some slow, some medium to fast as well as pretty bumpy. Again, for March not bad
November Golf is Good Golf, However...
They made absolutely no attempt to blow leaves. I lost 8 balls all in the fairway or in proximity to the green. Way too many leaves
Fast but really nice greens.
I think this course has always played longer than the scorecard. A lot of tough holes. It is a nice course to play and the Staff was excellent.
Great Again
Very good day...little cloudy with some sunshine. Not much wind. I have played Shirkey many times and always enjoy it.
Birthday round
We were not advised about a tournament and had only 3hrs to complete the round
I love this golf course, it will challenge you with a lot of different shots. Many large trees line the fairways. The greens work quite as fast as I had seen them in the past. Great golf course though
