1st: Scenery and golf course vie for the starring role at Waukewan. This first green, blind from the fairway, has a hidden bunker behind it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
6th: A tight par-5. Here we look back—across the pond--at the ribbon of fairway where the tee shot lands, for those who prefer to stay dry and out of the woods. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
7th: A masterful 3-par, viewed from right flank. This bunker is out of view from the tee, along with another trap on the green’s opposite side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

8th: From behind green. Perhaps one of the most elegant and scenic par-5’s in all of New Hampshire. It’s also tough. This view faces the tee, which is a long way down the immense hill. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

16th: Another strong hole over a stretch of seven on the back side. Uphill, long par-3 to a perched green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

18th: View behind/left of hole. Pond must be traversed on either 1st or 2nd shot of 4-par: a risk/reward decision. New England scenery, including clubhouse, forms a pleasant backdrop. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

Challenging Greens
Undulating greens required careful analysis to avoid missing on the low side. Greens were well-maintained and consistent. Lots of blind approaches. Nice pace of play.
Good experience
The friendly staff got the day off to a good start. The course was in pretty good shape and challenging enough for an average golfer. Pace of play was good. The price for the round was excellent! We are sure to return in the future.
The Waukewan
A truly beautiful course with great views, well maintained and a very friendly staff. Everything is nice and neat, well organized and you can't beat the late summer weather, price and the casual pace of play.
Good value for the average golfer
Waukewan has small greens and multiple elevation changes. I love to walk here, but there are some uphill climbs. The course is not long, but requires some thought as to shot selection to score well.
Fun little course
This is a great little course for the money. From my experience it is never too busy. We were behind multiple foursomes but only had to wait on the first couple holes. Some tricky tee shots but also some short par 4s and 5s that make it a good track for beginners.
Horrible Staff and Worst Experience of My Life
This golf course is absolutely horrible. The staff is horrible, and they have no idea how to treat anyone with respect. They allowed another group to freely hit balls at us while we were putting on the 18th green, and then the golf "pro" decided it was within proper golf etiquette to yell across the course that it was our responsibility to play faster. I am by no means a pro golfer, but I payed my money to play just like everyone else, and I let everyone who asks me to play through. This is 100% the worst golf course in the state and I hope their owner becomes aware of his poor choice in staff selection.
Disrespectful Employyes
Was yelled at and insulted by course employees and club Pro as we finished the 18th. The Club Pro felt the need to continue insulting us from the Club House stoop as we packed our car to leave. The amount of disrespect in that 5 minute time frame was incredible. Club 'Pro' acted like a child, screaming to insult us as we left.
Dear golfer,
I am sorry you did not have a great experience at Waukewan Golf Club on the day you played. We highly encourage all of our guests to respect our rules and policies, especially the one involving fivesomes. I understand that this may have changed your group's dynamics, most golf courses do not allow this format either. We try to treat our guests as fair as possible. We need our golfers to work with us to maintain the golf course's pace of play, as well as proper golf etiquette. We would encourage you to come back and play Waukewan again and experience it in a more positive light.

We at Waukewan Golf Club are sorry for anyone who has a negative experience while golfing here. This is a rare occurrence for us. I am comfortable in saying that this experience for this group is one of a kind. There is always two sides to a story. Hopefully anyone looking to come here and play will enjoy the course and staff as well!

So Pretty and Fun!
Very challenging for me (35 self-calculated handicap) but fun. Lots of water in play; a couple balls lost. Front nine mostly uphill; back nine mostly downhill. Finished in exactly 4 hours -- even with lots of strokes. Able to keep up pretty easily despite sometimes erratic shots and blind targets.
Would definitely play Waukewan again. A very nice course.
Value for the buck
Waukewan was in decent shape. Staff courteous as always. A great value for the buck.
Some holes were quite challenging
The course was great, the views were great, and golf now.com rates were unbelievable. A very good program.
Fine but not exceptional
The course is decent but lacks deep character holes. Conditions were fine, but a bit wet after some heavy rains two days before. Pace was pretty slow and there was no service cart out on a Saturday early afternoon on a holiday. That said, I felt the value was fine and would play it again on a causal afternoon.
Great value
Course was well maintained. Greens were in pretty good condition compared to other courses. We were able to play 18 without any waiting.
Great course for all golfers
Course in good shape compared to other local courses. Hard winter for the greens.
Your first visit has many surprises on the course.
Staff was excellent. Starter let us tee off well ahead of our scheduled start. He went over each hole prior to teeing off. Lots of blind shots during your first visit. Greens fees were extremely reasonable. Scenery was extraordinary and the course was in great shape with the exception of some wet areas on the fairways from heavy rains the night before.
Greens were in good condition considering all the ice we had last winter.
We're already planning a return visit.
Great Hideaway
My wife and I played Waugewan and really enjoyed the layout. Rolling hills and plateaus make for a great golf course. The weather was perfect that day.
I would rate it right along with Owls Nest to the north. Some holes are a little challenging, but that's the game of golf. Looking forward to playing there again on our return to NH.
Nice course
Course was in decent shape, fairways were nice, greens had a couple problems but no temporary ones. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of blind shots and you'll find yourself coming up short on some greens because of false fronts. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I will be going back.
lot's of hills
Winter has taken it's toll on this course their are a few temporary greens. hopefully they will come alive again soon.
A fun course to play
Had a great time playing this course, played it once before, many years ago,but did not remember much about it.It is in very good condition, the scenery is fantastic, they had 2 temp greens, but considering how bad a winter it was,it fared a lot better than most NH courses. We played as a foursome and we all had a great time, will most definitely go back again this season.
very nice all around
very nice course, conditions, price, staff and amenities. there were 2 temporary greens but after the winter we had i dont think thats an issue. some nice views on the course, and great burger at the clubhouse. extremely reasonably priced all around, we actually played 36 holes!
