1st: Scenery and golf course vie for the starring role at Waukewan. This first green, blind from the fairway, has a hidden bunker behind it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
6th: A tight par-5. Here we look back—across the pond--at the ribbon of fairway where the tee shot lands, for those who prefer to stay dry and out of the woods. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
7th: A masterful 3-par, viewed from right flank. This bunker is out of view from the tee, along with another trap on the green’s opposite side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
8th: From behind green. Perhaps one of the most elegant and scenic par-5’s in all of New Hampshire. It’s also tough. This view faces the tee, which is a long way down the immense hill. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
16th: Another strong hole over a stretch of seven on the back side. Uphill, long par-3 to a perched green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
18th: View behind/left of hole. Pond must be traversed on either 1st or 2nd shot of 4-par: a risk/reward decision. New England scenery, including clubhouse, forms a pleasant backdrop. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

Great value
Course was well maintained. Greens were in pretty good condition compared to other courses. We were able to play 18 without any waiting.
Great course for all golfers
Course in good shape compared to other local courses. Hard winter for the greens.
Your first visit has many surprises on the course.
Staff was excellent. Starter let us tee off well ahead of our scheduled start. He went over each hole prior to teeing off. Lots of blind shots during your first visit. Greens fees were extremely reasonable. Scenery was extraordinary and the course was in great shape with the exception of some wet areas on the fairways from heavy rains the night before.
Greens were in good condition considering all the ice we had last winter.
We're already planning a return visit.
Great Hideaway
My wife and I played Waugewan and really enjoyed the layout. Rolling hills and plateaus make for a great golf course. The weather was perfect that day.
I would rate it right along with Owls Nest to the north. Some holes are a little challenging, but that's the game of golf. Looking forward to playing there again on our return to NH.
Nice course
Course was in decent shape, fairways were nice, greens had a couple problems but no temporary ones. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of blind shots and you'll find yourself coming up short on some greens because of false fronts. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I will be going back.
lot's of hills
Winter has taken it's toll on this course their are a few temporary greens. hopefully they will come alive again soon.
A fun course to play
Had a great time playing this course, played it once before, many years ago,but did not remember much about it.It is in very good condition, the scenery is fantastic, they had 2 temp greens, but considering how bad a winter it was,it fared a lot better than most NH courses. We played as a foursome and we all had a great time, will most definitely go back again this season.
very nice all around
very nice course, conditions, price, staff and amenities. there were 2 temporary greens but after the winter we had i dont think thats an issue. some nice views on the course, and great burger at the clubhouse. extremely reasonably priced all around, we actually played 36 holes!
Great place to play!
This course was a pleasant surprise. Found a great price on Golf Now and wasn't expecting much. I played 3 other courses about an hour north and the greens were terrible. Waukewan had 2 temps but the other greens were in great shape for early season. I recommend playing this course more than once. There are many blind shots that become easier when you play a second time. I drove 40 miles to play and plan or returning soon.
For $15., Its About What You'd Expect
When my friend Mike said he found a super deal at a course on our way to Lincoln, NH, I was excited. After all how often do you see 18 holes with a cart for $15. per golfer on golfnow.com? Well I think its a pretty regular event at Waukewan. Its an old time course, and once you pull in you will sense that. The staff is very nice, but the golf course has seen better days. There were vast amounts of weeds, crabgrass and dirt in areas of play, including tees and greens. To say some of the holes are "quirky" would be an understatement. We felt our way around and we did marvel at many of the scenic views you get from the high spots on the course. I would say the 9th hole is a very good par 4, that requires two solid shots to get there. The 18th is an odd, short uphill par 4, with a pond in front of the green that makes what would be a long par 3, a lay up par 4. The course is also prone to be wet for several days after a rainstorm. I am sure the staff does the best they can, but they are just dealing with limited resources. I am also sure the local members enjoy their home course at a bargain membership rate. It is that type of course that has a certain niche. I think if you are a good golfer or better, you would be much happier to pass on the bargain rate at Waukewan and play a better quality course at a market rate.
This course was beautiful and well maintained, especially in the late fall
We came to this course since we were in the area. It was a great deal price wise and it was a fun course to play. We will definitely play here again when we are in the area. The views from all the holes were great. The course was in great shape especially since we were there toward the end of October. Definitely a bonus round of golf. I even hit par on the last 2 holes. That made my day. The woman in the clubhouse was very friendly and helpful. We will look forward to playing at this course again.
Greens in great shape for Nov
Friendly staff and great value. They should put a tall flag pole on 1st hole, because you can't see pin from more than 130 yards.
Great Fall Foliage views
Course has some quirky holes and dense fairway edges. Play in the fairways and you can have an enjoyable round. Course has some wet spots even during dry conditions.
Nice mountain gem
Course was just aerated, but still was nicely conditioned. Macho men beware, it's an iron course. Nice design, Local gal in pro shop was rude and gave no welcome or explanation of where to go. Management take note. She's a stinker! But once free from that, we enjoyed a great day.
Challenging with lots of sidehill, uphill, downhill lies !!
Course in great condition, challenging & great value.
Beautiful scenery as you play.
Plenty of risk, reward choices on this course
Fun course, target golf. go for it or play it safe you'll have fun at this course. Many opportunities for birdies and even eagles, however if you don't hit a good shot those holes can easily turn into doubles or worse. Friendly staff, beautiful views in fall.
overall the course was fun to play
a few (maybe 3 of the 18) of the greens were not in very good condition but puttable..and a few .fairways were wet but playable
good course
pretty good conditions, fun and interesting layout
Several greens need attention!
Several of the greens are in poor condition especially on the back side.
Repair neededi
The greens were in terrible shape . Yardage markers were awful. Many blind shots. I would fire the greens keeper if I owned it. Glad I didn't pay full price would have been upset.
