Very bad on many levels!
Where to start:
1) The lying state. Upon arriving asked if they where behind. Starter said 5 mins, but the group teeing off was 20 mins behind.
2) Guys cleaning carts with masks seemed good until those carts got moved by a dude slobbering on a cigar, yelling and no mask. Thus cleaning pointless.
3) courses was a mess. Tee boxes, fairways and greens torn up and greens almost not worth putting. Some holes had punched fairways and no notice.
4) took use 4:30 to play the round but at times 3 holes open behind use.
5) Had two different guys pocket my tee shots and walk off with the score.
Sad for a place with some classic holes. Nobody fixes ball marks.
Quick Tricky Greens
Course is in good shape. Relatively open with a short back 9 (back to back par 3's). Greens are old school and many have large bumps/mounds which make putting and chipping tough, but present a solid challenge. This was enhanced by the fact that they were running pretty quick as well, but they definitely ran true. Not a ton of hazards or sand to get you in trouble, which is nice. Also hole 17 is a fun SHORT par 4.
Split decision...
excellent accommodating personable staff. Condition of fairways is questionable. Nothing bounces on the greens and they are painfully slow. Weequahic is much better.
Unfriendly staff and the check in table + slow as a snail
The guy at the tent should remember that we are the customers that keep bringing business to his place of employment. We are not there to be mistreated.
Good value but rude staff
My wife has golfed with me about 6 times. We understand pace of play. Six strokes and we move to the next hole. Rangers came to us 3 times on the first hole to scold us even though we finished the hole in less than ten minutes. Unfriendly to woman? Beginners? Or just someone having a bad day. We shook it off by hope 6 and made a good day of it.
Defiantly worth the money. The greens were beat up and some of fairways were very muddy. Some of tee boxes feet like you were hitting of dirt. Very straightforward course. Mostly straight shots and not too many dog legs
Stay home!!! Never go here!!!
I have never been so disappointed at a golf course. The 2 cashiers, both a man and woman, at the club house were the most rude people I have ever come in contact with. You can tell they did not want to be there and hated their job. As for the course, the greens were in good shape, the tee boxes were dirt, no grass in site. You we sticking a tee into mud most of the time. The fair way were in good shape. As for the pace of play, it was the worst pace of play I have ever seen in my 15 years of golfing, that I walked off at the 10th tee. The short 475 yd par 5, 10th tee had us on the tee, the group in front on shot 2, the group in front 100 yds from the green, and a group on the green. I have never seen 4 groups on 1 hole in my life. Keep in mind that my tee time was 6:50am, that means every group in front and including us were stuck on 1 hole. No I know some people aren't good at golf, but can this trash place have ranger out there keeping some pace of play. NEVER AGAIN!
One of our favorites
Front nine is perfect, back nine is a bit odd with 3 par threes over 4 holes. The women at the snack hut are absolutely amazing with such great hospitality. The pro shop and starter tend to be a bit old school and can give off a “grumpy old men” impression but they are total softies and just want you to have a good time. The price is right and they take care of the course. The 5th hole is more forgiving to the right than it feels but don’t beat yourself up, the 6th hole is a breeze. 14 is longer than you think and 16 should be a layup unless you have serious power.
