Green Knoll Golf Course
About
Green Knoll Golf Course in Bridgewater Township has a varied terrain that provides a unique character to the course. The course sprawls across gently rolling hills dappled with mature trees. Much of the course's challenges are a result of the tricky contours. Some of the elevation changes are dramatic but there are also some subtle ones, which can be just as tricky. Further accuracy is required to maneuver the tight fairways. There are definitely challenges in store throughout but overall the golf course's playability appeals to all skill levels, from novices to avid golfers. It measures a manageable 6,443 yards from the back tees. In addition to the 18-hole course, there is also a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course. Green Knoll is one of five golf courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission.

Nice public course
This is a nice course in the Somerset County park system.
Well maintained from tee to green.
Not pristine and manicured like a country club but very good conditions for a public golf course.
No food and beverage available with the exception of some vending machines in the club house.
Excellent place if you’re just interested in playing a round and not hanging out afterwards.
No driving range but a large, well maintained putting green.
Pace of play was good for a weekday. Caught up to the group ahead on the back 9 but waiting time was acceptable. Might be slower on weekends.
Would recommend to others.
Well worth it
Nice public golf course. Course was in good shape with grass everywhere it should. Greens where nice and decent speed. Would definitely play again. Rough was a little high but over all had a good day
Not worth it
Lobby of the pro shop smelled like an elderly home.
Group in front of us walked resulting in 5+ hour round.
No cart girl for drinks. Only thing available was vending machines in the smelley pro shop.
Tee boxes below average with some not level.
Fairways and greens were good.
Love this course!!
This was my first time playing this course. The greens, fairways, and overall condition of the course were exceptional for a public course.
I found the layout to be the perfect balance of openness and thoughtfully placed challenges — bunkers, native grasses, hazards, trees, etc. At first, it seemed like it was going to be a cinch, but as we played hole after hole, I came to appreciate the nuances. I got the feeling I could come back dozens of times and still be discovering new aspects of the course.
I walked and found it to be hilly but manageable. I’m fairly fit, but I felt like I got a pretty good work out after 18 holes.
I rated five stars across the board with the exception of amenities, which were nice but pretty basic. I think they turn the pitch and putt course into a driving range at certain times, but it wasn’t open for a warm up when I was there. Also, there was no café or really any place to get a drink or bite between nines. That said, the clubhouse and shop, although bare-bones, seemed to be newly renovated and was quite nice.
The clubhouse staff and starter were nice and welcoming. Pace of play was one of the best I have experienced at a municipal course.
Definitely highly recommended. I will be coming back again and again.
Great Course
Loved everything about this course and definitely will be back! Super friendly starter, elevation changes, tough holes (watch out for the #2 handicap hole, as it seems deceivingly easy until you hit your approach shot). Stay in the short stuff as the rough is heavy and the fescue is insane. Highly recommend.
Wide open course
The course was in good shape and wide open.. it is great for those golfers who don’t hit the ball straight.. was in good shape and fast play. .. would definitely play again
Another great somerset course
Great course, conditions were excellent, fun to play and. Reasonable challenging. Pace of play however was horrible 2 hrs 20 min for front nine waiting to hit on every shot.
Nice Muni
Beautiful Day . Course is very challenging. Lots of rough. Tee to Green good condition. Many holes play long with plenty of sand and a few water holes. . Can be busy with long waits. Took 2 hours 20 min to play nine. Overall a nice day on the course.
Great Staff, Great Course
My first time playing here and very impressed with the overall course,👍⛳
I had concerns reading reviews about snotty staff‼️❓ This could be no further from the truth. Everyone there was very professional and outstanding nice.
Thanks for a great day, see ya again soon....
Surprisingly tough
Reaching the greens can be tricky. They get you with the cart add price $$
Pace of play is slow
I played apart of a foursome and we were only able to get 14 holes in before sunset due to the horrible pace of play held by players ahead of us. While starting at 3:40 in the afternoon I have gotten 18 holes in before 6:30. The groups in front of us changed 3 different times and it seemed like people were just randomly walking up to tee boxes and playing a hole as they felt. It only got worse when the group in front of us changed again and we waited 18 minutes for the group in front of us to get off of the green and move on to the next hole. I figured the pace of play would be slow having played here before and have been on course for 5 hours before but this was just unorganized and clearly un supervised. Hopefully the course can enforce pace of play rules and allow games to move smoothly and keep slow selfish players off the course.
