One of many scenic holes at Spring Meadow Photo submitted by Cory3302115 on 06/23/2014
Mean, rude, and entitled staff
If you're going to run your business with a-hole staff, you deserve to have your business fail- which I hope this one does. This course was too costly for the pace of play, course conditions, and grumpy old men who wish they were already in the grave. Spend your money on a nicer course that will challenge you, not this janky beat up course.
Good local course
Walking this day, course and greens in good shape. Back tee on 15 opened for the first time in a while. Godd walking course.
Much Improved Conditions
The fairways and greens are in very good shape compared to last year. I always enjoy walking the course even though there are a few ups and downs. Very good value for the current conditions.
Good all around course
Course was well maintained. Complexity of the course was mixed which is a big plus. Staff was very friendly specially the lady in the reception. I would recommend this course.
Some of tee boxes need work as there are too many dirt patches.
While I appreciate the one hole layout that is tricky to find behind a maze of roads though a forest, some actual signs will avoid inevitable problems with driving off course. But it is nice to have that space for sure.
Very Scenic Course
Place was in very good shape. There are some holes with beautiful views. The group I played with were very impressed.
always good
course is well maintained; amenities are great; staff is friendly. The only layout flaw is that the 9th hole doesn't take you back to the clubhouse, which makes it less likely to start at the back nine or only play the back 9.
Incompetent Starter and Rude Staff
I have played Spring Meadow a number of times. It's a cool layout and for the price, I have always been able to overlook the mediocre conditions (no sand in the bunkers, some areas of greens damaged, a few torn up tee boxes, etc). However after my most recent visit I will not be returning.
We had a 10:32 tee time, but ended up sitting for a half hour waiting to tee off. The starter claimed that there was a twosome he started on the 5th hold earlier in the day that he needed to put between us and the tee time before us (even though the tee times were only 10 minutes apart. This backed us and everyone behind us up for the first 4 holes, where we were waiting on every shot.
I guess the starter realized he created a mess, because once that extra twosome finished the 4th hole and left, he and the ranger starting harassing our group, saying there we were too far behind the group in front us, conveniently ignoring this was because of the now missing twosome he had stuck in there, which caused all the delays.
They forced us to skip a hole and then continue to hound us throughout the round even though we were playing faster than the group behind us, which is impressive given we were walking the group behind was in carts.
When we finished, we were able get to the parking lot, put our gear away, walk to the bar, go to the bathroom, and get halfway through our first beers before the group behind us finished more than 20 minutes after us, so we were clearly not holding anyone up, yet the staff harassed us the entire round when it was the starters screw up and not our pace that caused the problems.
Definitely will just pay the extra $20 to play the nicer county courses from now on.
