Price doesn't meet Expectations
Sun Eagle's course used to be a reliable course to play for me in the Monmouth County area. The layout, level of difficulty, the course itself, all pretty solid. Condition good, not great. However... the audacity that this course has for charging $105 for a decent tee time and over $60 for a twilight tee time after 4:00pm is just absurd.
Management recently renovated two holes on the back nine. A nice touch to the course for sure, but that doesn't mean you up-charge people an extra $30+ for a tee time.
It is a solid course and a fun time to play, but this is NOT worth the money you are paying. You can list SEVERAL course throughout Monmouth county and outside that are way nicer in layout and condition for a more reasonable price.
Long round
I want to be honest even I recommended, I don go to play this course again. Why? First of all, the guys on the clubhouse is not friendly, secondly I don’t see a ranger in all day, third too much money for five hours round, the game won’t flow the way it’s suppose and the group on front of us heat two ball each in almost every hole.
At the end I ask to the guy clean the golf cart about the slow of the game and he tell me that every time the course is move slow like that.
That’s why I never comeback, this course don’t cost more that $50 a game. Honestly.
Getting there!
There has been a lot of good work done on the course and it definitely shows. They are getting close to being an above average course. My only two complaints is the staff inside the pro shop is not friendly at all. I blow it off but I’ve been here multiple times as a guest and every time it’s the same thing. I would consider becoming a member but this alone is the reason I would not join. And second they need to get off there soapbox and reduce the greens fees by no means should it be a $105.00 a round!
Price is ridiculous — but the course is in better condition
$75-105 to play a course that has dump trucks, bulldozers, and all sorts of construction going on....is just ridiculous.
Extremely overpriced for what it is
For half the price you can play at any of the Monmouth county courses which are in way better shape than this. A mid-week tee time with a cart for the same price as a semi private weekend prime tee time… not a horrible course, but it just doesn’t make sense to play for the price.
Not worth it
A $105 round for this course is a crime. Sure it’s nice but not worth that price in the slightest. Construction all around and pace of play is so slow. Not to mention you can only use the range if you’re a member or player. Why not take the $15 and let someone use the range that had no one on it?! I don’t understand. Will not be returning as there are far better courses in the area.
Nice track, but $105!?!?
Listen, the course is fun to play. The upgrades in drainage on the back 9 are working out great. But, this is NOT a $105 dollar course. $65-80 max. Hopefully you can scoop up a “hot deal” and play.
Pace of play
We were backed up from hole 2 to 18 bc group ahead of us was slow. We played up on them the whole day and still the ranger kept asking us to play up. We notified him onnwhole 2 that these guys were playing slow and that caused all the delays
Second Time Playing
They are doing tons of work on the course and the club house.
Course is in great shape. I'm sure when they are done it will be an outstanding facility.
Worth it on a hot deal / Not at full price
Paid under $50 for a round per person for 2 people - others we paired up with paid full $105 per person.
Pace was fine.
100% worth the money on a hot deal - maybe not at full price though.
Good challenege for beginners. Lots of construction going on, but honestly unless you have a stick up your butt its not that big of a deal. Construction going on will only make course better down the road once completed.
Would 100% go back and play again.
Construction
There was several areas on the course where they were building new townhouses and the excavators were digging. Dust was flying into our eyes from the construction. I wasn’t prepared for Al the noise and dirt. The sprinklers were also on when we tried to tee off on one hole. As it was so hot it felt refreshing. We have played this course in the past and enjoyed it.
