Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Valleyview/Lakeview Course
About
The Valleyview nine is the most difficult course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately one hour from New York City. Small greens, tree-lined fairways, hilly terrain and out of bounds on seven of nine holes are among the reasons the Valleyview nine is a test. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1979.

great deal
For me one of the nicest public courses in New Jersey - great layout - friendly staff - enough challenges - lots of wildlife viewing - beautiful setting - fantastic snack house at the turn and restaurant/bar for after golf - all in an historic barnyard setting - a must play
Very nice course
Had a great time playing. Course is in great shape. Going back with my group on the 12th of May. 5 T Times.
Enjoy Playing Farmstead
The course was in great shape. Four played at $22 each. New carts in 2018. I was surprised how the course rebounded after a tough winter in NJ. I recommend this course for without reservation. We played Lake to Club. The Valley is a shorter course with difficult par 3s. You need to make shots on this course,
Limitations: No driving range.
Worth the Drive
I have always preferred Lakeview to Club View but regardless, the course is always well maintained and management keeps pace acceptable.
Pace of play
The pace of play for Lake and Club this Saturday was the worst I have experienced in a long time. Course was in great shape for this time of the year.
Challenge yourself
Play this course from the Blues, it's a much better challenge. White and red tees are close. Greens in good condition, despite a horrible March in NJ
Great shape but quircky layout
I would not play this 18 again. Play club and Lake. Much better track.
Play this course!!!
This was without a doubt one of the nicer courses I've played this season. Our Tee time was 12:12 we went out about 10 minutes early. There was only 2 of us, so they paired us with another twosome. Which I usually don't like, but this time was quite fun. With it being almost December the course was leave free and in GREAT shape. The starters were friendly and gave you all the info you would need to play the course! Definitely gonna play this course again! N.
Farmstead is a great course
Played here many times. Course is in great shape, greens were nice, leaves blown off fairways and rough. Will play again
Farmstead
great shape - fairways like carpets - greens putted true - great 19th hole - pleasant staff -
Very good conditions, fast greens
Course was in excellent condition. The rough was thick and made for challenging play and the greens were very fast for a public course. Pace was slow at a 4:45 hour pace. It was a late October bonus day so the course was crowded.
Don’t play if you can’t pick your 18
Farmstead is a very good value for money course. That out of the way, they have an 18 hole course (lake/club) and a 9 hole course (valley). It seems that they are putting golf now customers on a 18 layout mixing valley in there when it is not mentioned. Valley is poorly maintained and lacks a good layout that the other 9’s have. Teeboxes were really bad on all 9’s this year and overall maintenance has seemed to decline from previous years. Post what 18 will be active for the day.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Dear rangr514,
I am sorry you were unhappy with your golfing experience on 10/6. Please be aware that when you buy a “Hot Deal” from Golf Now, the golf club where you will play has no involvement or control over those tee times. Golf courses provide Golf Now with Tee times in exchange for the use of their GolfNow system, but then those tee times (prices and location) are fully controlled by Golf Now. We did just submit a request to GolfNow to include the location of the course when they advertise their “Hot Deals”. I was surprised by your criticism of our golf course….We put a lot of work into and take a lot of pride in the maintenance Farmstead Golf & Country Club and normally receive excellent reviews. We encourage you to visit our website at www.farmsteadgolf.com where all of our tee times indicate date, time, and course rotation….I am confident you will enjoy your experience and surroundings.
