Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Clubview/Valleyview Course
About
The Clubview nine, which opened in 1963, is the original course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located in northwest New Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City. Offering a traditional mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, accuracy is key on the Byron Phoebus-designed course. The Clubview nine closes with two very demanding holes, the long par-4 eighth, with an approach shot over water, and the par-3 ninth, which is surrounded by water.

Pace of play
It was raining out and course remained open. There was a foursome ahead that never played golf before based on their golf etiquette and pace of play. The starter even came out and did not move them along or explain how to play or at least push them ahead a hole. All said I’m done is a great course and hospitality was good.
Every time I play this course no matter which 18 I have played the course is always in great condition !!!
Very nice course very courteous stagff
Very nice course staff very courteous and helpful!!
Cart path only due to heavy rain the day before. Course in good shape. Great staff. Only drawback was slow pace of play as it took 5 hours to play 18.
Slow
Slowest round I played this year. Over 5 hours. Not a single ranger with a clue knew how to handle. “Play ready golf” when the course is backed up doesn’t improve anything.
Super Annoyed
Frankly the last 2 times I played here I was not a fan. The starter is beyond rude. Both times he started me and my group at least 10 min late from the tee time. They also this last time oversold public slots on top of an outing. I started had a 2:40 tee time (so really started at 2:50) and we never finished the 17th or 18th holes. 5 hours and to not finish all while having to wait excessively after every stroke is ridiculous! The starter needs to be fired because he has no clue how to stagger people properly and the rangers need to learn how to move people along who are holding up the line. Much rather pay a bit more and play Skyview at this point!
Wonderful course
Farmstead is always in great shape. From tee box to green this has always been one of my favorite places to play. Go and see for yourself and you'll know what I mean.
fun rounds
It rained a lot today, so the course conditions are bad
This is a golf course I always want to come back to
To the staff who found the lost cell phone
Thank you
Great Day
Little over 24 hours after rain from Ida. Started on Club side and after first hole, no course wetness issues. Played Valley on back nine and as expected with a valley, very wet on several holes.
Even with that wetness, we had a great time on a great course. Weather was beautiful and the course was green everywhere. No pace of play issues to speak of.
