About
The Clubview nine, which opened in 1963, is the original course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located in northwest New Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City. Offering a traditional mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, accuracy is key on the Byron Phoebus-designed course. The Clubview nine closes with two very demanding holes, the long par-4 eighth, with an approach shot over water, and the par-3 ninth, which is surrounded by water.

Great Day
Little over 24 hours after rain from Ida. Started on Club side and after first hole, no course wetness issues. Played Valley on back nine and as expected with a valley, very wet on several holes.
Even with that wetness, we had a great time on a great course. Weather was beautiful and the course was green everywhere. No pace of play issues to speak of.
Great Place
Play the club and then the valley. I know now why the valley is always available because it’s very difficult and very challenging. We will be playing here again

Always great shape greens smooth and beautiful couldn’t see first 2 holes heavy fog lol but still played highly recommend this course
one of my go to courses
I always have a good time at Farmstead, Play it a few times a year and always feel its a good value for the money. Some challenging holes typically most people play Lake to Club but they do have Valley as well. Valley is a bit more quirky and not as traditional its ok but Lake to Club is the way to go.
Some tricky holes and a few long par 3s make it a challenge but its still fun. The greens are usually in good shape and the rough is a bit longer than other courses to keep you honest. Overall this is not going to wow you but you will keep coming back because pace of play is good, the scenery is nice and its a fun time.
Not worth the hike
This course is tucked in a distant corner of NJ…same vicinity as Skyview and Berkshire Valley. We played club+valley and Course quality and layout is that of a typical county course anywhere in NJ. Greens are in mediocre condition and carts are run down to the extent they don’t make you feel confident while riding. Go to the other two courses which are truly exceptional.
