No Waiting
Good pace per round, no waiting between hoods. Course in good condition, looking forward to another round.

Single players beware
I've played Lakewood numerous times over the years. The layout is good and it's generally in good shape. I've never been keen on the staff behind the counter but the starter and the cart staff are pretty nice, so no big deal. Last time I booked a reservation through GolfNow though I was the only player for that tee time. When I checked in I was told I needed to pay an extra $10 for the cart or wait to be paired with another single, which would have been 2 hours later! This was ludicrous. I didn't request to ride single, so why should I be charged extra??? Does that mean that every time a group has an odd number of players the single guy will be charged extra??? It's even more annoying because the last time I played there we were only 2 players and they let us use 2 different carts!! Come on, stop the greed people! Ended up cancelling the reservation and swore to myself: never again!
Good course but
Bunkers need a lot of work as does cart path on back nine.

Hidden gem.
A nice course to play in an area lacking many low cost options.. A challenging layout for better golfers but suitable for high handicappers.
The staff is very friendly and the pace of play around 4:15 - 4:30 hours.
I will definitely play there again.

Better than you’d think.
Played here quite a few times this season and for the money it is great. Would be nice to see a little more maintenance on the fairways but for me Lakewood suites my game.

Postage stamp greens are the difficulty on this course
This was my first time playing Lakewood Country Club. The fairways were in good condition; the ro=ugh had some uneven spots but was generally okay. The greens are really small which makes the course difficult to score on, especially if you don't know them. I hit an approach shot on a hole which I though landed just off the green, may be 15 to 20 feet from the flag. It turned out that the green was so tiny that my ball rolled down a slop just off the green and into a small creek on the right hand side. The greens also are very undulating with some roller coaster like hills which I found unusual for small greens.

Injury
Course in very good condition. No waiting between holes, good pace. Unfortunately I injured my shoulder & was only able to play 10 holes.

Pleasant day & decent course
Nice course, nothing extravagant. White tees are kind of short at 5900 but the tips are 6400. Cart girl was visible, and we saw her about 5 times during the round. Conditions were good. There is a range and a practice green. Pro shop is pretty bare bones. Feels like throwback in time, kinda muni-like. Pace of play was ok. We got done slightly over 4 hours after going out at 10:20. Even though we finished in a reasonable time it felt really slow, waiting between holes. It moved quicker than it felt. It's a decent course in the area. Not up to Eagle Ridge level but better than Bay Lea.
