Lakewood Country Club

Lakewood may have a bad rep, but the course is great. Tee boxes are pristine, fairways in good shape and most of the greens are challenging, 2 greens have some wet area that never seem to be right. Halfway house has good and beverages . Maggies is a bonus for after your round. Lakewood can be a nightmare to drive around. Saturdays are usually the best day as there is little to no cars on the road.

Very difficult to great there with traffic and construction. Club house was really primitive. Staff was nice. When we checked in, we were told we could get a better rate if we called the course directly. Frustrating! There are so many better options nearby.

The course is in great shape from the last time I played there over a year ago. We had a great round.

There are some challenging holes like an approach shot from 50 feet below the green. Greens are fast and in good shape. The cart paths are dirt roads - I'm surprised they did splurge for a little blacktop. Worth the $61 round. The Tiki Bar and pub are cool places for some beers and food

Course of all the courses I played this year may have been in the best shape greens were really fast though as I think there hasn’t been much rain in that area stairways were like carpeting in the green had no bald spots. I highly recommended.

The course has a lot of character and nuances. Very fun round.

I mistakenly booked the wrong day on Golf Now and was disappointed that I did not get at least some type of refund. I had booked it on a Thursday instead of Friday. I did show up on Friday and hoped the course realized it was a mistake and I just didn't show up. t made the tee time on Wednesday and it was raining on Thursday so I don''t think I kept the course from making any money. I know it was my error but $130 is a steep penalty for an honest mistake,

Great condition from tee box to greens. Nicely maintained and it really shows! My favorite area course. Traffic around the area is the only negative, but it’s worth dealing with it.

I haven’t played the course since early spring. In that time, the grounds crew have done a fantastic job of clearing brush, removing trees, etc. the course looks and plays great from tee boxes to greens. Great course!

I had a 1:50 tee time that I purchased thru GolfNow (Hot Deal). From the time I went to the proshop to check in (at 1:30), the manager was very confrontational and downright mean. On 3 separate occasions he would not check me in. He kept saying that he makes no money on these "Hot Deals" and that I needed to wait to check in even though I could have gone out with a twosome that teed off at 1:40. He made me wait util 15 minutes after my tee time to finally check in. Kept talking about how he runs the place and I need to listen to him - Bottom line - me and my buddys have been golfing here for 6 years and there's never been an issue. This guys just a real jerk!!
