The course was in good condition especially for this time of year
Check in and starter great job. Snack bar charged me $4 for hot dog. Sign said $3 ?

Worse than Bad
I don’t even know where to begin to be honest. I guess I’ll start with the fact that it took 5.5 hours to get through a round. Starter basically sat in his cart at the first tee box and did absolutely nothing to keep the pace of play moving. The course was in terrible shape. Every green had either dirt or sand patches all over the place. The person on the 10th tee concession stand did nothing but complain about having to work, the way he’s treated at work, and the fact that the course is terribly run. Then to top off the round that ended at 7:30pm, I left a pair of sunglasses in my cart by accident, realized where I left them once I got home, tried to call the golf course and got no answer. I tried calling again the next morning and didn’t get an answer until 11:00. When I finally did get someone on the phone he asked what kind of sunglasses they were then immediate said “nope haven’t seen them.” I was clearly the last person to use the cart the day prior, so whatever employee was in charge of cleaning that cart clearly stole them instead of turning them in. Don’t waste your time playing here. There’s plenty of other places you can get through 2 full rounds in 6 hours.

Good course for getting out
East Orange is a short course that even from the back tees for most holes requires something shy of a driver. Fairly wide open with a slope of 120 from the back, it's a nice course for a relaxing round that won't beat you up. Because it's shorter, it forces you to focus more on your course management skills and shot selection. It seems to get a fair amount of play, so this late in the season it's a little beat up, but the staff does pretty well at keeping it up. Staff is friendly, good Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiches at the turn!

Nice short course/very good value
Overall 8/10. White tee boxes in very poor shape not much grass, Greens left something to be desired - some bare spots and many ball marks. Fairways were in very good shape. Great price for 18 holes with cart on a Sunday...

NOT WORTH THE MONEY
With the short length of this course and the terrible conditions of both the tee boxes and the greens, this course isn't worth a penny over $35 per person.

Recommend
Played here a handful of times. It is well maintained. The greens are a little rough in places but in much better condition since they were aerated. Great course for the novice or weekly golfer.
