East Orange Golf Course

East Orange is a short course that even from the back tees for most holes requires something shy of a driver. Fairly wide open with a slope of 120 from the back, it's a nice course for a relaxing round that won't beat you up. Because it's shorter, it forces you to focus more on your course management skills and shot selection. It seems to get a fair amount of play, so this late in the season it's a little beat up, but the staff does pretty well at keeping it up. Staff is friendly, good Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiches at the turn!

Overall 8/10. White tee boxes in very poor shape not much grass, Greens left something to be desired - some bare spots and many ball marks. Fairways were in very good shape. Great price for 18 holes with cart on a Sunday...

With the short length of this course and the terrible conditions of both the tee boxes and the greens, this course isn't worth a penny over $35 per person.

Played here a handful of times. It is well maintained. The greens are a little rough in places but in much better condition since they were aerated. Great course for the novice or weekly golfer.

Good value for the money. I've played a few times and will play here again.

This course has so much potential but the last three times I played here, the conditions of the greens and tee boxes have been awful. There were parts of some greens where I was like putting in a sand trap. I wish I took pictures to post here because I’m sure it sounds like I’m exaggerating.

The coarse was recently aerated but looked more like the greens just had sand poured on them weeds were growing everywhere. No ball cleaners anywhere on the course. Cart paths are made of stone makes for a harsh ride on the cart. All in all shows why it was so cheap on a Sunday most likely won’t be back.

This was the worst golf course I’ve played (and I’ve played plenty of public courses for a similar price) and also the worst golf experience I’ve ever had. The starter and ranger are none existent, I showed up payed for 9 holes and they said I can go out whenever. On the second tee some drunk idiots decided they would drop their balls in the middle of the fairway between myself and the guy playing in front of me who’s on the green. I start yelling at these guys, they hit and drive off. I saw them head over to the 10th tee, called the front desk to have the ranger come out. He came over to me I pointed them out then he went to talk to them. At the end of the round the ranger tells me they had a different story of the situation; nothing was done about their complete lack of golf etiquette. Aside from nobody respecting the game of golf here, every green is full of sand (and this isn’t because of hurricane Ida) I played here in June and July and the greens were the same, full of sand. This course is comparable to playing in someone’s backyard, save your money and DO NOT GO HERE. The pace of play was atrocious, holes 5-9 were so backed up, wait 15 minutes to tee off then the next group is right behind you literally waiting at the same tee box, so you’re waiting then you’re rushed when it’s finally the time to tee off, not exactly the relaxing 9 holes of golf I was expecting.

Also there’s literally a restaurant/club (that has nothing to do with golf), I played two weeks ago and there was a DJ on the restaurant patio that could be heard from any hole. Once again SAVE YOUR MONEY, do not play here.

The check-in is fast, the driving range is convenient and you can hit any club distance. Pace was 4.25hrs. It’s an enjoyable course, greens, rough and fairways in good shape. On the short side even from the tips. The bunkers were full of rocks and in need of sand and repairs (heavy rains in the weeks may be the culprit). The staff is friendly and there is a good bar. You can rent cars and push carts (decent quality push cart).

Good value for the price. There was very little damage from Ida. The greens were being aerated and there was an excessive amount of sand on a few of the greens. Good course for the novice golfer so it's easier to stay out of trouble spots.

You can expect no greens on greens but only sands. Pace was little but slow but green was bad from the hole 1 and it gets worse. Hope 15 is pretty much just sand. Fairways are terrible and tee box is also pretty bad

I was witness to the group of 6 college kids who were asked to leave on Labor Day. They had 2 sets of clubs for 6 players and the first 4 tees off with two sets of clubs leaving the two on the tee with none whatsoever. Good on the course for not allowing them to play! You would think that someone who was familiar with the course would also be familiar with the course policies. Pace of play is paramount, especially at a municipal course like this.. 2 sets of clubs for 6 players is outrageous! Good thing school is back in session!!!
