Greens need work
Course is well maintained except for the greens.
You get a good workout walking the course.

Spring is here and my first round of the season in in the books
Overall it’s a challenging course with course playing longer than it appears on the card. I really enjoyed the challenge and will try again this year the only problem was the pace of play. I understand the first great stretch of weather every spring brings everybody out and the club they spaced out everybody fine it’s just the group in front of us was so slow there was two holes open in front of them and not once did a ranger try to fix this egregious slow play or even recognize that it was happening and we suffered from the Notorious jersey five.. we tee off at precisely 1:30 PM and we finished at 6:32PM...
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Feel like playing Augusta
The green is fast and can't control the bounce. Course in good condition!

Good & Hope for better to come
Understanding it would seem to be a long road back in general to golf as we knew it pre-pandemic, my first round at Byrne for this year was a positive “shot in the arm” regardless. The course was full by 11AM when the starter sent us off on back 9 due to wet conditions. We did not wait on the group ahead until 16. This continued around the front but never got too bad for a Sat at midday. What I will still miss until it is feasible are reliable staffed halfway house concessions with the friendly people there. I’m sure that they need the work, and I need a Powerade without the hit/miss vending machinery. Some tee box areas are suffering right now and the conditions re bunkers is something that’s usually been best to look past even in better times. However, the greens and fairways were in good shape. Genuinely looking forward to enjoying this course many times this Spring/Summer.

Great course for a great price!
Course was in great shape, along with the pace of play being above par. You could not have asked for a better day this early in the season. Was hoping for a beer on the course but I guess those will come soon enough!

Classic course
Anyone who lives in North NJ should make their way here at least once. The course is a hidden gem.
Fall Golf Fun
It was very windy with temps dropping. However the course was in great shape. We had booked for 1pm and since it was quiet the staff was kind enough to let us begin our play 45 minutes early. We had hoped to get in 15 holes by dark but do to their help we finished 18 with plenty of light left. The pace of play by those in front of us was great. We completed 18 in under 3 hours 30 minutes. All in all a great day of fall golf.
