About
Middle Island Country Club sits almost at the center of Long Island and has been one of the area's most popular public golf courses since first opening in 1965. The 27-hole course is divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire layout was carefully carved from 225 acres of the Lustengarten Nursery. Middle Island's Dogwood/Oak combination features narrow fairways lined with trees. The greens on the front nine are the most challenging of any of the three nines. They have subtle breaks that leave many golfers wondering how they "just missed" it. The Oak nine is almost as tough, but you will get a slight break. It requires careful course management since there are many doglegs that can make it play longer than what's indicated on the scorecard.

Golf
Great course just a little narrow. My favorite 9 is definitely spruce. I would recommend playing spruce if you get the chance.
So so
Horribly slow pace of play. Not a Ranger in sight. An uninteresting course but in decent shape.
Not Safe - Okay Golf
Golf was Okay. Maybe not worth the price. Also not entirely the safest parking area since my car was broken into. Ended up costing me more than just a tee time. No help from Staff.
Beautiful Sunday round
Pace was a little slow at first. Somehow a 5some was ahead of us. Back nine pace was better.
Great course
Played here three times in the last year covering each of the nines and really liked the course and the way it played. Only negative was the starter who I thought must’ve been having a bad day until his rude behavior became normal to us!
Nice course
Very few people on the course on this windy and chilly day. Greens were in good shape...overall a fun round and good conditions. I’ll be back.

played last week - course was in great shape, good value for the $. staff friendly
Nice Facilty
Fairways, bunkers and greens in very nice shape for early in the season. Staff friendly and coordination very good with starter at the turns.
