Dogwood/Oak Tree at Middle Island Country Club
About
Middle Island Country Club sits almost at the center of Long Island and has been one of the area's most popular public golf courses since first opening in 1965. The 27-hole course is divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire layout was carefully carved from 225 acres of the Lustengarten Nursery. Middle Island's Dogwood/Oak combination features narrow fairways lined with trees. The greens on the front nine are the most challenging of any of the three nines. They have subtle breaks that leave many golfers wondering how they "just missed" it. The Oak nine is almost as tough, but you will get a slight break. It requires careful course management since there are many doglegs that can make it play longer than what's indicated on the scorecard.

Average at best
Insanely overpriced. I played Bethpage black for less money. Bunkers are awful, greens We’re bumpy, and the course is just all dog legs and long. Good luck.
Rainy day, but good game anyway...
Course was overall pretty good. Greens we ok, a little beat up but that seems to be the case with a lot of course this year...nobody is repairing their divots!! This place is made up of 3 separate 9 hole courses. Dog is a mix of long and wide holes, Spruce is wide open with some water in play and elevated greens. Oak (my back nine this round) is the longest of the 3 and plays tighter. Also more hilly. In summary, had a great time out, always even my rounds here
Best corse I been
This was easily one of the nicest corses I played on. Staff was friendly pace of play was amazing. Very spread out. Challenging yet very fun. Very nice long holes. My new favorite spot. Beer cart could use more beers but beer is beer. Loved it!
Very good course
Staff is great and very accommodating, course is very well taken care of.
Great shape
Played here many times. Fairways and greens are in great shape. Layout of all three nine holes is fair and challenging. Tee boxes and sand traps need work.
Fun course
Course was in good shape. The three 9 hole setup is Challenging. I’m a senior golfer so some holes played long for me. Got off right on time. Starter had good control. Cart girl on course. Course in good shape with the exception of the idiots that don’t fix their green pitch marks. Will play again. .
Day at the course
The weather was perfect ,the course was in good condition. The course played well with people obeying current restrictions and conditions.Enjoyed the course and the company.
Great Day to play golf
This course has three nines Oak Dogwood and Spruce.
If the starter gives you Spruce at the turn be careful of other groups jumping in front you this will slow you down and usually happens later in the day when the starter is gone
I played Oak and Dogwood and although dogwood appears to be a carbon copy of oak it’s greens are in better shape and forces you to play fades and draws
Enjoyed my round and took ten skins
Horrible
The starter didn’t let us finish playing the course we were assigned he wanted us to go to another nine hole course after we had already played 6 holes
Not good
Don’t go to this gold course the starter is an idiot, he made us play 18 holes on three different courses. Terrible experience wish I could get a refund
Excellent challenge
Played the Oak/Spruce courses. Both are in very good condition
It’s a very nice golf course pace of play is a little slower times and the greens nobody knows how to repair ball marks I think it’s gonna be a huge problem soon
Overall a good day
Course was nice, in pretty good condition. Pretty long , pace was good. Some very nice holes.
Worth a second look
