The Golf Club at Middle Bay

I play middle pay 1-2x a week it is a great track.

This is a local gem. The course is in excellent condition despite the lack of rain. Greens are neither burnt out or have fungi. Fairways are closely cut but not burned out.

Got out 30 minutes late. The starter is too busy chatting with everyone he knows and doesn’t get folks on the first tee and ready to hit.

Left after 11th hole and iver 4-1/2 hours. No rangers, people spending way too much time looking for golf balls in the high fescue.

The ranger doesn’t care why we are behind schedule. The older guys I was with took a long time finding their ball. I lost several but took drops to speed up play. White feathers from birds make it hard to find your ball. Holes are right on top of each other. Errant shots can and will cause damage to homes other Golfers. Kyle the golf pro talked over me while I tried to explain. Not worth the $100. The manager gave me a long list of reasons why they treated me poorly but agreed that I was treated poorly and only charged me for 9 holes. I said that was fair. They really could use some help in the management department.

The holes are right on top of each other. Players consistently hit balls on to neighboring holes. The ranger and golf pro Kyle are not very professional. I tried to explain why my group was slow but they talked over me saying they have gps and we are moving slow. The course has tons of white bird feathers on it which makes it difficult to find the ball. I personally lost several balls trying to speed up play. The golfers I was 1st paired with were walking in front of me while i was taking my shot. They also took a very long time looking for their balls and having no golf courtesy at all. I left that group , cleared it with the ranger, and the next group also took a lot of time looking for their ball. I drove the ball 250, they were older guys and were 200. I had to help and wait to find their ball before i went and looked for mine. I did everything I could to speed up play. I was singled out 3 times asked to hurry the play. They didn't listen to any reason why. They must have very little management if they feel they can talk to patrons that way.

terrific layout. a bit on the pricey side. Id play here more if they offered more deals. Guess they dont need to. OF all the public courses on the island not named bethpage this is the best.
