Love it course
There are so many reasons why I rate this place so highly. All the staff are professional and very friendly and take great care of us. The course is spectacular and you can't relax for a moment. The greens are very well maintained and the burgers I always have for lunch here are the best. Thank you always.
Summary
Solid course moderate degree of difficulty well maintained
People are nice
I always like going to Saxon Woods. Nice people. Course is great, the greens roll well, and there is enough to the layout to keep you 'busy'. Right now the leaves are everywhere. The sup does all he/she can to mitigate, but leaves are leaves. I played two days in a row here, The second round the halfway house was open for what may be the last time this year. They only take cash, but the woman at the counter was so kind she gave me a free water! If I see her again she's in for a $10 tip. The pro shop guy I saw yesterday recognized me and was just as great as ever. The practice putting green is one of the better rolling greens around in the Publix sphere.
Slow pace of play
Nice course offering good value for beginners. Conditions, ex-leaves was good.
The pace of play was too slow. We couldn’t finish 18 due to darkness but completed 15 holes.
Challenge
It will rest you off the tee on most holes. And the greens are tiny. You score here you can score anywhere.
Miss this course
Lived in Westchester at one time and use to play at Saxon Woods all the time. No we try to get there once or twice a year. Will always be one of my favorite courses. Staff is not as friendly as in the past
