Saxon Woods Golf Course

I love playing this course every time. Beautiful course never lets me down. The round is usually faster than it was today. It took us about 5 hours to get through 18. Other than that it was great like always.

The Ranger needs to drive around every once in awhile

Played on 7/12/26 and honestly it was a mess. Tee times were packed way too tight, so every hole we were just standing around waiting on the group ahead. Talked to the pro shop about it and nothing happened, no ranger ever came out to move things along. We ended up skipping a hole just to try to keep pace and it still took over 5 hours. On top of that, the pro shop staff and the starter were both just flat out rude when we brought it up. Not coming back to this course again.

Fun course, a lot of getable holes. Great layout and Great greens.

Extremely disappointing experience. The pace of play was awful, and this was on a Monday, not even a weekend. It took 3 hours just to play the front 9, and the only reason the round finished in 5.5 hours instead of potentially taking 6+ hours was because one player in our foursome dropped out after 9 holes. A course charging people to play should not be run this way.

The conditioning was just as bad. The greens felt like putting on thick carpet, the fairways were more like first cut at most other courses, and the rough was completely overgrown and poorly maintained. It was difficult to even find balls in many spots, and when you did, the lies were often almost impossible to hit from. That is not “challenging.” It is just poor upkeep.

Overall, the course did not feel like a real golf course compared to other public courses I have played. Between the brutal pace of play on a weekday and the poor conditions, I would not recommend Saxon Woods and would not play here again.

The course overall is in good shape. But they do not have enough carts as I paid for one but there none available.

Pace of play is terrible and not a ranger to found.

Unfortunately a bad day of very slow play. When I say slow, there were 6 groups on the 4th. Walked off after 3hr+ front 9.

First 9 holes took 2 1/2 hours then after the 10 th hole the course was backed up with 2 foursomes waiting in tee box. Next 3 holes took 1 hour and 20 mins. Left after 13 th hole at that point I was 5 hours into round and had another 5 holes to play. Before leaving I saw ranger hanging out at 1 st tee with starter, maybe the ranger should’ve been on course speeding up play.

This is the second Westchester County course I’ve played this season where maintenance has slacked off. Greens are un decent shape, but rough is too long, some bunkers are overgrown with weeda abd tee bixes are cart paths are beaten up. The county can di better and has in the past.

Nice friendly staff. Greens painfully slow. Need another set of tees, both men’s tees measured 6,000 yds. Tool long for most senior players. I am 79 a solid 12 handicap and could not reach many holes in regulation. Almost 6 hrs. to play 18 holes.
