Feels like playing a nyc course
Too many elevated greens (we are not talking like 10-20 feet probably 3x that. Kind of gets annoying… too many of holes are close together so watch your back and sides for flying balls

Ball marks on greens
Overall, a great course but the greens are littered with ball marks. Seems like nobody repairs their marks or fill their divots on fairways.

It's just crazy slow. Almost 3 hours for front 9 this past weekend ...

Many super elevated greens and slopes fairways
This is tricky tough if you have never played here… a couple of super high elevated greens and many sloped fairways… seems like the fairways are sloped in most places but many balls lost because it’s hard to figure out what lane looks like until you walk up to your ball and you tell yourself next time let me try left side of fairway… friendly staff 4.5 hour round not too bad (we had 2 slow groups in front of us).

Always a pleasure
It's amazing how the golf course superintendent at this golf course is able to maintain such good greens, tees, and fairways in this sweltering hot weather. It was a searing hot day, the course was very busy, and I was tired from a house build I am doing so eventually just drove my cart in after about 14 holes and called it a day (I don't think I've done that three times in 45 years!)
I still had fun. Myself, and another gentleman in his golden years played the first nine holes together. He left after the 9th hole. I was solo for the next few holes and played extra shots. The sun gets pretty harsh late in the day but I love to play this golf course so made the best of the time I had there.
At some point I left my putter on a green. I was to play an event the next day, and must've been chipping around the last hole I played a bit.
When I got to my home course for the event, I realized my putter was AWOL. I quickly called the pro shop, and lo and behold Young, Faithful Jake answered the phone.
Jake is a treasure. He not only went and found my putter, but left me a nice voicemail when I was out playing my event, 3-putting my way into oblivion, to advise me he put my name on the flat stick and it would be there safe and sound. That's what I call "top-notch"!
The rangers are characters. Retired guys hardscrabble. There was this big guy, muscles and tats on his arms. One look you'd think he was a brute. Well, he was trying to help a customer who had left their pouch on a cart. "This is yours", he called to the customer. He was blocking my way, and I begged his pardon, wondering if he was gonna rip my head off! Totally the opposite: the guy was as polite as ever. I was very pleasantly shocked!
There are things I wish the course had, e.g., a credit card processing device at the halfway house, and water, but these things pale in comparison to the golf experience overall.

Worst staff across all westchester county courses
I am 100% convinced that Saxon Woods has the worst group of rangers across all of westchester county courses. They are just unprofessional and in yesterday's case - just plain stupid! The course was very busy yesterday. My tee time was at 318pm and we did not tee off until 345pm. And that was perfectly fine with us. We had no complaints that we had to wait to tee off.
The problem started on hole #3. The 4-some behind us complained to the rangers that we were slow. But we were absolutely not slow - we were waiting for the 4-some in front of us and they were waiting for the 4-some in front of them. But instead of using common sense and investigating the matter at hand the ranger came over to us and told us that we had to pick up the pace. I asked the ranger how could I hit when the 4-some in front of us was on the green and I was like less than 100 yards from them. The ranger did not answer my question except to obnoxiously keep repeating that we had to pick up our pace! The guy did not have any common sense!
