One of my favorite golf course in New York

Man Where Do I Begin
The pace of play should be illegal. The starter and rangers really need to be put in check by management. I’ve played here many many times and not once have I been satisfied with pace of play. The course is above decent and nearby, which keeps me coming back, but it gets really frustrating and messes up your rhythm waiting so long to hit your ball. You’re in for a long round and making new friends in other groups on the tee boxes.

Ridiculous Ranger
He slowed down play on a day that was already Cart Path Only. He was primarily concerned Winthrop selling tickets to a concert he seemed to be involved with.

Course is in great shape, one of my favorites in the area. I play twilight specifically to avoid backups and enjoy walking. However the day we played was a disaster - worst I’ve ever seen. Left after 8 holes and almost 3hrs!

WAIT ON EVERYHOLE
The course is great but if your a good golfer and need to get to your ball and hit than your game will suffer. The course has Rangers but they do not do anything to speed up play. How a 2 someone slows up a foursome is ridiculous. You will be friendly with the group behind you because you will be with them on every holes tee box.

Location, staff very good
Nice layout with elevation changes, blind shots, mix of tight and wide driving holes. Greens lush. Roughs lusher :-) Jake in pro shop is a star employee. I'd give most there a 10 rating. The other Westchester courses would do well to follow this venue's example.

Horribly slow and rude staff
The rangers and starter were horrible, were 2 minutes late to check in and our tee time got pushed back 35 minutes. Paid full weekend rate to tee off during twilight time. Waited 15 minutes to tee off each hole and just horrible experience
now you know. DONT be late for a tee time.

Carts are awful, gps didn’t work on one and the other cart gps was on a Florida golf course lol

Maybe just a bad day
I played the course a few times last year. While the pace has always been slow, it was manageable. Played for the first time this year today and it was pretty awful. They were two groups in front of us that were all 40+ handicaps but playing off the blue tee. They held everyone back and there wasn’t a ranger to be found. The green was also in very bad condition. It was not only super slow but also very bumpy.
We couldn’t stand it and left after 12 holes.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Well-Maintained Municipal Ciurse
After a meaningful investment by the County a few years ago, the course is playing fairly while providing a good test of golf for players of all abilities.
The staff is always helpful, friendly and available. The covered outdoor seating at the grill room makes for a pleasant respite before, after (or no round) a round.

Great course!
Great day except for a foursome that was really slow! Didn't care looked for ball for 10 minutes. walked on other fairways, Group behind them quit after 15 so we passed them.
