A Bargain
Course is in beautiful shape and the hole layouts afford a variety of challenges. Very walkable!!

Pace of play
Nice little track but (and I’m aware it was a Saturday afternoon in the summer) the pace of play was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Saw the ranger a few times but they didn’t even try to do anything (not much they can do cause everyone was backed up and I understand courses aren’t gonna book less tee times to help but this was ridiculous) I quit after 9 because it was getting dark and there was no point in playing another couple holes before they kicked us off.
Also, the starter was clearly not in a good mood and when I checked in 25 mins early he said he’d give me a “holler” when I was up because they were running behind. I told him I’d be on the practice putting green RIGHT in front of him but he never said anything then when I checked with him 15 mins after my scheduled tee time he said my group already teed off. Thanks for the “holler” 🤦🏻♂️

Love this course
Love this course however the pace of play was very slow do to two foursomes in front of us who were not very good spent too much time looking for lost balls. The round took over 5 hours. NO ranger to be found anywhere. Other than that the course layout is challenging for mid handicap golfer. especially holes 13 and 14.

Staff needs to provide better Customer Service
The Pro shop staff is ok, the starters are Ok, but the service is very inconsistent. They don't use Rangers on the course as they should to keep pace of play.
I have also found the rates they charge differ at times from other Westchester County owned courses. They do not promote the Twilight Special offered at County courses unless you ask. Not Cool!

Saxon woods
I have played this course from the early 90s. It has been up and down due to budgets but mostly up. Currently the course is in great shape. The only critical thing I can say is that the 5th hole needs some adjustments. First of all the inside corner of the dog leg has too many trees and does not allow for a clear shot to the green. There are 5 trees along the edge of the fairway that need to be removed. The original design was to have the green hidden by the hill the trees are on but not blocked. Secondly the green needs to be refurbished by putting mounds behind it to keep balls from going down the hill behind the green, the green itself needs to be recontored to allow for a more reasonable right pin placement.
