Sprain Lake Golf Course

Great course had a great time , unfortunately the 2 guys cleaning the carts down at the end were very rude. Had taken anything out of my cart yet and they started hosing it down. Wrecked my speaker and wet my golf bag. Was not a big fan of that hopefully that gets fixed.

Played it multiple times this year. and second time since aeration. Greens came in nicely. Most tees were in good shape. Fairways were good though aerated fairways have lagged regenerating. The rough was pretty lush and in some places quite penal.

The course is not overly difficult Few forced carries on back

We played fast as a threesome and finished in a shade under 4 hours though pace slowed on final five holes which took an hour. Really would not have noticed except that we waited on tees and they sent a notice to the carts advising that play with carts would end 7:20 (at 7:20 on 18 green barely enough light to finish)

Two weeks post-green aeration, and, with a couple of slow-to-recover greens notwithstanding, the course is in great shape, especially given this late in the season. Maintenance in recent years has been the best among the Westchester County munis.

The players in front took forever and we only got through 14 holes. The ground was rock hard and greens were super slow. Very crowded course.

Nice design, very short except for 2 or 3 holes.

Picturesque- must be beautiful in the fall.

The greens are ridiculously slow, almost annoyingly so.

Sand traps need to be raked prior to opening for the day, but it’s priced right. Got done in 4 hours flat, but was told that it’s usually a death march, must have been the threat of rain.

I’m a Monday golfer, since it’s usually very good to avoid the weekend madness golf in NY. But this Monday was different. Course did not mention the greens were going to be aerating that day opin booking. Even after I called, no ranger came to check on the pace of play. On every single tee, we had to wait sometimes up to 10 MINUTES so we can hit our first ball on the hole. Every single hole, 8-10 MINUTES waiting, on a Monday? Not worth it at all.

Love this course! Challenging, fun and well maintained.

Once again playing at Sprain Lake was fantastic. Made some great new friends and had so much fun.

Course was in better shape than the last time I played in early June. Greens were very slow and need cutting and rolling, but are otherwise in excellent shape. Carts are getting a bit long in the tooth, and the county needs to start thinking about upgrading the fleet.
