Not Good
The course was very crowded, and the starter was sending groups out too close together. By the 7th hole, we were nearly 2 hours into the round. No Ranger to monitor pace of play, extremely uneven and bumpy greens, and several greens were covered in either leaves or pine needles. We were hoping to get maybe 14 holes in before dark, and ended up getting in 9.

Great features/topography. Staff is great, pace is a bit slow and the course is in excellent condition considering the time of year

WAS NOT ABLE TO PLAY BECAUSE OF GOLF OUTING
Why did TeeOff had the slot available if the course have a scheduled golf outing. Having said these, TeeOff, I want my money back.
It was ok
Once again the green were a mess filled with sand, second time I played this course this season and both times the greens were terrible.

Nice course
Sprain Lake is a nice course to play, especially with a deal time. The front nine is short and a par-34, but the holes are not gimmes. The back is longer, a par-36, and more challenging.
The holes offer varying layouts, so it's not playing a bunch of similar holes back and forth. I walked and it can be challenging with some hills, but it's a good walk.
Two minor complaints: The greens were a little slow and bumpy (I think they're about to aerate -- the second was being done as we played, with a temp green -- so maybe that had something to do with it. And each time I played, there is always a backup on the 15th tee. It's a good, challenging hole, but it seems to slow a lot of groups down.

Wrong day to play
The Sprain Lake course was packed because two neighboring courses were closed due to the past storms. Also it was a perfect sunny day low humidity, and ideal for golfing, but , a long day with a 5+hrs round.
The course was in decent shape, apart from the bunkers, and some aeration on the greens. The long drivers suffered, having to lay up to avoid hitting up on players . Also the Blind Tee shots, extreme elevations, creeks crossing fairways affected pace of play. A nice course just picked the wrong day to play.

Well maintained
Great course we’ll maintained fairway and tee box. Had to wait couple minutes on some holes but overall not to bad. I did bring an inexperienced golfer who didn’t have a bag and they made me rent a golf bag stating something about golf rules need everyone to have at least a bag. Even though that was a little annoying the staff was very nice and the price is great.
