Drove 45 minutes to Jersey city only to find out there is no parking‼️⁉️
No parking lot or street. Guy at the front desk told me this was jersey city and everyone walks!!?
Trying to cancel reservation he told me had nothing to do with Golf Now. Very Bad experience. Would not recommend to my worst enemy 😤
Don’t bother
Made a reservation - showed up and they had double booked it but couldn’t figure out how to reverse the charge. So paid for it and no golf
Should not be on here.
I had a booth reserved for 10 o’clock when I arrived early at 9:40 the front staff attendant informed me that golf now is not at all connected to their in office system and that someone else has completely booked over my 10 o’clock reservation and next time I can book is 1 PM so essentially there’s no reason that club metro should be showing as a available course or place to play on golf now if there is no connection between the app and their location and anyone reservation can be booked over. seems stupid to me
Decent simulator, not a Trackman
The technology is good, but not great. It is not a Trackman simulator so the chipping and putting can get a little iffy. Overall very good value compared to other simulators.
Lame as ever... For people they golf once a year and have no intention of going to an actual golf course
I'm not sure what the appeal is on this place, the pictures that they give you are nothing like what it is. It's quite literally a closet that has a driving range simulator in it. There's no way you could fit four people in here, as a left-handed golfer. I hit the wall with my driver twice because of how tight the space is. Parking is a pain, And as other review state, you need to walk through the 525 passage to walk into the mall, then go up and escalator and walk to this place. Add 10 or 15 minutes to your drive, plus Jersey City traffic. This is only good as a driving range, I don't reckon my coming here to actually play golf. I'm lucky that this was free with my hotdeal tee time, but even so I would never come back here even for free.
Meh
Location: inside Newport mall. If you bring your own clubs, you’re gonna have to carry your bag clear across the mall. If you’ve got some kind of physical limitation, this might not work for you. It’s about. 10 minute walk. There is a parking lot that’s closer to the entrance, but it belongs to another business and you risk being towed. For some strange reason, it was suggested that I park there anyway. Whatever.
Staff: Super friendly staff. Bunch of nice kids. One gripe I had was that the room was set up for a righty and I had to flip mats around to center it. Also, the kid that helped me had no idea how to use the simulator. I’ve used a bunch of these before so I was able to get it going pretty quickly. My only concern was if it was password protected or something like that. I got lucky and it was open to use. If you use this place, be prepared to be on your own with no help.
Facilities: From what I could tell they have just the 1 room inside of a smallish gym. You have to walk through the gym floor past people working out to get to the room. In the room they had two bags filled with clubs for you to use if you want to. I didn’t even look in the bags to see what kind of clubs, but I’m guessing nothing worth picking up. I had to use my own golf balls as they only provided two golf balls, as far as I could tell. I didn’t use theirs because they looked pretty beaten up. The mat was good enough as well as the screen. Typical simulator stuff.
Simulator: It has potential. You can play lots of different games, use it as a driving range, play a round somewhere, plus games, but for example, it was way off on distances. Example: 165 yd 9 iron (I wish). My 5 iron carried about 235 also, I wish). Needs some serious tuning.
The room itself is private, but looks nothing at all like what’s on their website, where for some reason it costs 39.99 for the hour compared to 29.99 on GN. The room isn’t big enough for more than one person to safely be in there. The photo on their website shows this massive, super modern looking space with fancy chairs, when that’s not even close to what it actually is. They had two red stools for you to use, but again, not big enough for two people. The room is maybe 10x14 (maybe a touch bigger, but not much). Height wasn’t an issue.
If this is your last, last resort, then go for it. You’ll at least be able to swing the club and the cost isn’t terrible. If you’re looking for a quality simulator experience to share with a group of friends, this isn’t it. I predict they’ll be shutting this down at some point. Probably not worth the effort for them. This is, after all, just a lone room in the back of a gym and is probably not even close to one of their top priorities.
Overall good
Overall, the quality is good for the money
but not really accurate in short games.
A terrific driving range if you need to practice
Staffs super friendly and did everything they can to help.
This is a one hour session, so you might not get a chance to play a full round. I personally decided to use it as a driving range, which was perfect. I would say it's better than a really driving range, because you can tell where your ball landed, and the simulator tells you the analysis - it was just my second time using a simulator; I think it's accurate, fascinating and helpful.
There are clubs ready for use with no extra cost - terrific.
just FYI, the building is under construction, so arrive earlier to find the correct way LOL .
Solid value for money
Simulator is a good value with the hot deal rate. Sim is in the back of the gym- the room is pretty small for any more than 1 person.
Not sure what technology the sim uses but it really struggled with chip shots and consistently misread them as <1 yard duffs. I couldn't get a single chip to register cleanly, so I had to pitch it every time instead, which it does an okay job of reading. Other sims I've used have not had this problem registering chips.
Outside of no chipping the sim works fine, nothing exceptional but it gets the job done when there's bad weather. Don't regret my purchase, but probably won't come again.
Best Simulator I’ve ever played...
First Rate Simulator experience!! Was Lucky to find a simulator that has the Pebble beach course and many others as I’ll be playing there in 2021 a lot
