Reviews
Good course, horrible experience
Great course, but terrible getting in and out. Plus scorecard was not the hole sequence shown and GPS was unusable.
Disappointed
Course was very beautiful, staff friendly for the positive. Disappointed for a few reasons. There was a very bad house fire on the course which caused our game to be held up and re routed. Hopefully everyone is ok!! That is the main thing. We were held up and then re routed to another part of the course. I said maybe we should come back?? We ended up playing several different holes and not in order and missed out on 3 of the holes. The fire was of course out of their control . At the end we tipped the caddy very well then he told us his service was 800 pesos. We were not told about a caddy charge. Service for the shuttle to the course was late by 30 minutes. It was a very expensive day for us and feel we were short changed of our golf game and should of been offered the option to come back due to the fire.
Good course, great condition
The course was in great condition. Not a lot of elevation change, but the water hazards and sand traps add enough variation to make it fun.
Caddie requirement
Just unsure about the caddie protocol was his fee covered under our round?
I feel if a caddie is required than you should supply a caddie to a maximum of two people and not four..
Check for club rental
We went to play this course, and they didn't have any clubs for rent. We ended up having to wait until groups came in from their rounds and we could get 3 sets of clubs.
Unmemorable
Not a bad course but couldn’t tell you if I played it again what hole I was on they all seemed similar.
The pace was so slow, it was hard to focus. Many holes were cart path only. Had I paid full price, I would have taken it up with management. No marshalls on the course at all. I would not pay full asking price for sure.
Very Dry
Fairways very dry
Greens very dry and slow
But nice layout
greens were slow as well as the tourist golfers in front of us!!
Golf is good. Getting to the first tee a nightmare.
This course is the best option in the Puerto Vallarta area. It will host a PGA Tour event in. Few weeks, and the pros will absolutely go crazy low on it. The only defense is wind, since the fairways are wide and there is no rough.
While the course is very good, it is nightmarish getting started. It is within a “vacation resort,” and your arrival takes you to what feels like a Disneyland ride. You wait as shuttle after shuttle passes by going to specific hotels/condos/attractions. One is for the pro shop, and it took more than 30 minutes for it to arrive. At the pro shop, after checking in, you must wait again to be shuttled by golf cart to whichever of the three courses you are playing and to be assigned a mandatory caddie. I had a 12:56 tee time and arrived at the property at noon. I didn’t get to the practice facility until 1:10, hit about 20 balls and no putts, then headed to the first tee.
I only mention all this because if you’re on a tight schedule or can’t roll with the flow, you might be pretty out of sorts to start your round.
What a surprise.
I had read terrible reviews about this course but they were wrong. I’ve played lots of courses in the PV area but this was the nicest. We had a $95 Hot Deal which made it very reasonable compared to other courses in the area. They are preparing the course for a professional tournament next month and the conditions were perfect. A few traps were roped off but most had fluffy new sand and were great. The greens were in great shape also. To top it off we had one of the best caddies ever. All in all it was a wonderful day.
Would have given the conditions a 5 but there wasn’t any sand in the bunkers on about 3 or 4 holes on the back nine.
Fair to mediocre course in general. Currently a rip-off. Course is being prepared for PGA tournament, and should not be open for play ... a responsible operator would have closed this course. There is no prior advice as to course condition or circumstances. Course layout has been altered so you are not playing the course as designed, one third of hole yardage in first nine was roped off from cart use, some sand traps were empty, one hole abruptly closed to play in the middle of our round, no food or beverage services at Clubhouse, very limited cart service on course with no food selection. Overcharged and under-delivered. Have now played curse twice, and will not do so again at any price.
Great Layout.
Fairways were more open than I was expecting. Some tough approach shots though with bunkers and water. Some bunkers were empty getting ready for the PGA tourney in April. My Garmin watch did not work as they are changing the layout for the tourney but my caddie helped make the difference
Excursion Experience very pricy
This was an adventure! From the taxi ride to the trolly shuttle ride to the golf cart ride. The round abouts and overpasses and bridges was stunning, but we hadn't even golfed. The experience was amazing. It cost a LOT of money per round, and my 12 year old daughter had to pay full price which is BRUTAL. They didn't even have a junior fee. Brutal. Our Caddy was named Milo and he was great and very helpful!
