Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Overall good!
Played on 2/28. The only real negatives are the bunkers are hard pan, no real sand, golfers need to fix/fill divots, and better garbage clean up! Staff was great, there was a beverage cart, cold water on the course is always a plus.
Decent track. Don’t hit the bunkers.
Very inconsistent bunkers and green conditions. It’s winter so I know the pace of play is going to be slow, but 5.5hrs for 18 is a long day for everyone. Just hard to get a consistency going when it’s 10 min between shots.. play the bunkers like they’re on the cart path. The staff is super friendly though!
San Marcos
Great course, pace of play was a bit slow! Course was in good condition! Love the history!
Excellent!
My buddy Quinn and I played an early morning round. Course was in great shape. Went to the bar afterwards Zoey and Alejandra were awesome bartenders! Kept us laughing the entire time’ I would definitely play here again!
Good course
Our go to course. Always a great staff and course is always in great shape
Generally Good. Course
Conditions and place of play were good. Price, like all AZ golf, is too high.
Very Slow Pace
Course is way overbooked. Spent all day hanging out at tee boxes. Group ahead was also waiting. Seems like it’s a re-occurring issue.
Wear a helmet
I liked the course, staff and ranger were easy to deal with. Conditions were good as well.
It’s simply the tightness of this course and the balls from other holes flying by that will be my memory. The guy I was golfing with was hit by a ball (nobody yelled fore) in the chest, and this was while we were trying to figure out whose ball was on our hole. This was all day.
Wonderful Course
Pace of play was slow!
I love to play San Marcos and have refereed many of my golfers as a good course to play. This year I have played the course 3 times and the last 2 t times play was incredibly slow. The course staff was friendly and Courteous. We saw marshals but did not see any action to resolve slow play. Maybe course t times should be lengthened to allow for slow play. I may give the course another go but will stop recommending without noting slow play.
Overpriced Resort Golf
Range balls are $3/sm bucket but that’s because they’re essentially ping pong balls. The range itself is 170/180yds MAX. Rough is short and forgivingly for high hcp’ers, but the greens take away that advantage. They are in great condition though. It seemed they overbooked themselves based on the fact I saw multiple groups, including my own, waiting for carts. WM was going on, sure, but in my opinion that should not affect the off-course experience. Their Chicken Caesar wrap was pretty good though. And cheap beer. Paid $109 for the tee time in total(1:16pm).
