Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

The Grand ol Course
Awesome golf course. Rich in history and is one of the best courses in the valley. Great fairways, perfect greens. I will always love it when I have the opportunity to play here. I would recommend this course to any and all.
Tiny greens and lots of trees
This is a flat golf course with a lot of trees (for the desert). Greens are much smaller than modern courses. Course is easily walkable, being flat and with very short distances from one green to the next tee. I like playing here as it is so different than the more modern courses in the desert.
Greens were fairly slow the day i played. The rest of the course wes in fine shape.
Weekday minimal staff and amenities....
Played here several times and course is usually pretty nice condition. One the weekends they fill up the tee times (understandable) so pace of play is going to be much slower but cart girl and full staffed snack shack and clubhouse bar. During the week on a Monday 2 teenagers checking you in and then no one. Had a group in front of us who had no idea of golf courtesy and took no exaggeration 20 minutes on the 6th green. When we asked to play through they were appalled and acted liked we insulted their mothers. A marshal, even the teen at the front should have been on the course.
Great day
Greens were very consistent and rolled well.
Fairways were mostly green with good grass.
They are working hard to keep the course in good shape.
A couple branches need to be removed to open up the driving lane. The hang out into the fairway. Would highly recommend playing this course. We had no one in front of us and no one behind us. We played as fast as we wanted.
Great course
Beautiful fairways. Good greens.
Overall great experience!!!
San Marcos
Love playing this historic old traditional course. Big old Cottonwoods plenty of green grass, great staff.
Courtesy of staff
Very impressive. Pro shop staff, bag handling, starter, on course Marshall. Everybody went out of their way to be helpful and friendly
Always a pleasure
As always, a wonderful round on a historic course. Course was in terrific shape. Greens rolled true and plenty of lush grass on the fairways.
Not Great
This was day 4 of our golf trip and the worst course we played by far. The pictures on the site do not at all reflect what the course looks like. Half the greens were burnt up, the fairways dead and each bunker a different type of sand than the last. This did not at all match the price. The pace of play was miserably slow despite a Marshall on the course who basically just parked in the shade. The cart girl was great however the halfway house grill we got yelled at while on the tee because the staff didn’t feel they received adequate tip. Very welcoming. Will not be back.
The score card lacks detail about Canada position and other hazards. The course and tee boxes are poorly marked and the forward tees are often hard to find. Yardage markers seem to be sprinkler heads only, without a range finder it's a guessing game.
Course personnel are very friendly.
Good Fairways.. Tough Sand
Course overall is great. Please rake your traps. They were crusty and hard. Faiways in good shape.
Good Fun
We really enjoy playing this course. You will too.
