Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

San Marcos still great
I always enjoy this course, it’s in one the best shapes that I’ve seen it in the l20 plus years that I’ve been playing there
Horrendous experience will not be back
Had a 6 ball playing in front Marshall didn’t split up, waiting for every single shot. Took us over 3 hours for 9 holes, Head pro promised a full refund, got to pro shop they offered us $10. Disgraceful customer service, pro shop worker confrontational and useless. Will not be back.
Good course
Everything was green. The greens werexa little slow. The fairways was long. The place of play was excellent.
Enjoyed the round
Good course, very slow play, but greens were in great condition and putter trie
Decent track
Course layout traditional, typical of an old course. Easy to play, not much trouble, back and forth can spray and recover. Waited at most every hole throughout round, a bit frustrating esp when you’re backed up at par 4, second hole and two foursomes waiting to tee off at 18! Never have seen that. Skipped 18. Overall a good round, conditions relatively good for this time of year, but need to find a way to speed up play.
Ok
Played on a Sunday afternoon around 340. Played 12 holes. Gredns decent. Fairways ok. Tees rough on some holes. Good course to play for holes for variety. Would play again for same amount of money!
Not bad
Greens in decent shape. Fairways better than I thought for the lack of rain this year. Tees below average. Slow pace but a great afternoon to play!!
Great Course
The course in good shape. A variety of hole. The fairways are close together, make sure you're hitting your ball
Better course maintenance than last year.
San Marcos is a challenging course, but very playable given the improved course conditions, so, hats off to the course maintenance staff. A year ago, I would not have recommended playing this course to friends who prefer grass in all areas of the course - especially the fairways.
Great staff, friendly at all times.
Bald spots in the fairway and fairways had a lot of brown grass.
