What more could one ask for !!!
It was one the best courses I have ever played - the layout, conditions and the scenery were - Oh my, every hole brought out a challenge for anyone looking for one. The greens were the only item which could use improvement, they were not in A one condition, but the speed was spot on - very quick. You will not regret your round and i'm sure you will return if your in the area again, lastly for the price, it's a steal :)

Great views and elevation changes
This course has great views and elevation changes and every hole is new and exciting!
Very difficult 4 or 5 finishing holes.
Although preparing for over-seeding course was in good condition. Great views of Superstition Mountains. Clubhouse good value as now doing happy hour 2 - 7pm
Love the Dinosaur
Best golf course views in AZ if not the entire west coast. Every hole is a unique challenge, though 18 seems oddly out of place. Booked as a single, played in under 2 1/2. The only downside was they had plugged recently so the greens were like velcro.
This course is fantastic. Very well maintained with picture perfect views. Staff is very friendly and professional

This is a good place to challenge yourself
Staff is a little too worried about pace of play, even when there is no backup on the course. I don't play here often but generally enjoy my outing when I do.
Pristine is an understatement. Beautiful vistas and a fun course to play.
Pristine and well worth the time and money. Pins were purposely placed at most difficult positions due to a member outing in the morning. However, it made it fun to see how hard a great course can be set up. Would play again in a minute.
Summer Rates!!! Maintained Nicely.
Great Course to play during the summer months, low rates and maintained nicely!
Sidewinder
This was my first time playing Gold Canyon Sidewinder, and I loved the course. It's a gorgeous course located in the high desert, and you are surrounded by mountains at virtually every hole. I loved every aspect of the course, and will definitely be playing there again. I would recommend this course to anybody looking for a challenge. Don't miss out on the gem!
great time to golf cheap
very nice course no one to slow you down this time of year, green were just aerated and hindered the ball roll abit but the course was in great shape other than that.
Good course for the money
Short course. The greens were very bumpy and slow. They may have recently been aerated. Overall condition of the course was average. I only paid $21 for 18 holes with a cart. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Great scenery, a great layout and in very good shape!
Played Dinosaur a few years ago so figured I'd play Sidewinder on our last staycation of the year. Played 11am Saturday, then we stayed at the resort. The course looks and plays well. Greens nice, fairways nice. Some elevated tees and greens. There are houses but they are not tight on every hole. Dinosaur mountain is within view on almost every hole and it's very rugged and beautiful. Not much water, and a quite a few of the holes have generous landing areas which helps keep the ball in play. There are washes that cross some of the fairways and in front of the green that are dry and can be hit from if you land there. Greens roll true and are soft enough to need a ball mark fixer. The cart girl was working both courses but came by often and was very friendly. The only negative I could say about this course was that drivers are not allowed on the range and I needed it for my first tee so I hooked it into the desert. But even with that penalty I still shot an 80 so I was happy. Would definitely go again!
the course is fantastic
i will play this course over and over again i wish i lived closer its about 70 miles from mebut not to far away i will definitely be back
Water? Really?
Dinosaur mountain is definitely a fun course. Lot of elevation changes and amazing views. Course was in pretty good condition for time of year.
However, the course amenities were terrible. There is no water located anywhere on the course! Is that even legal? The driving range has mats and you are not allowed to hit a driver. It's also kinda in the middle of nowhere.
If these things don't bother you, then give it a try. Glad I tried it once, but won't be going back.
Great Experience
Great deal for the money, the course is pristine, the staff is very friendly. I was playing alone, got tied up with some locals, great people, had a great time. HIGHLY recommend it.
Loved the course. I will be back.
If you live in AZ and are looking for deals in the summer this one should be on your bucket list. I had to drive 40 minutes but it was worth it. The course and clubhouse were great value.
The course was awesome.
The scenery with the mountains was beautiful. The course was green all the way through 18 holes. I will play there again for sure. Next time we will play the Dinosaur 18. Thank you for a great time and enjoyable round of golf.
Very nice course the front 9 was prettier then the back which was flatter.
Take your own WATER. There were NO water stations on the course.
Bad greens, good fairways.
Fairways are green and lush, but greens are horrible. If they are charging $50 in summer, then they should have good greens. Bunkers have sand in them.
Take advantage of the summer to get a great value in the desert!
I played Sidewinder in mid August in 40*C (104*F) but the course was in good shape -- generous fairways and rough with receptive and even greens. The GPS was very accurate and the touch screen enabled me to choose my targets with accurate distances and avoid most of the hazards. The greens were running about a 9 but still allowed good shots to stick the green, even from over 185yds. The views on Sidewinder are supposedly not as good as Dinosaur Mtn but I still managed to find some great photos to send back to the "poor folks" back home in the rain!
The staff were very friendly and the drink cart came by often to keep me stocked with ice and beverages. The summer rate can't be beat for value in the Phoenix area, especially when considering the "winter" (high season) normal fees. Take advantage of this mountain gem.
