Superb Staff/ Felt like a private club
Front nine: Too many sand traps. Several holes essentially had forced Carrie’s to greens because of
Multiple traps.
Back nine was way better. Still lots of traps but entry lanes to the greens.
Also, very impressed with the staff.
Advice from a Local - Play This Course!
Both Palmer and Faldo courses will treat you well. Faldo has more features and sand, Palmer has more shape and hidden washes behind hills. Both are fun, challenging, and in decent shape for the time of year we played.
Having played several mod and high level courses in the north valley and Scottsdale area from Troon, TPC Champions, McDowell, Cave Creek and others, the Marriott courses are a great choice and and you get what you pay for. There are some nicer courses, sure. But there are many many more worse courses that cost more!
Worth it
Great course! Love the layout and it’s always in great condition.
Best course I’ve played
Just a great overall course, challenging and well kept. I’ll be back
Long Challenge by Arnie
Great course that plays very long. Tees, greens, and fairways were in excellent condition. The holes are fairly straight forward with few surprises. You'll see the challenges that await you from the tee. The par three holes are fairly similar in length and design. You'll enjoy the round and the experience.
Nick Challenges You!
This is a challenging but fun course to play in the Valley. Faldo has presented a visually intimidating collection of holes that will make you think. Don't worry however, unless you fly the ball into a bunker chances are it will run by or away since Sir Nick has sculpted the bunkers to not so much capture rolling balls as repel them. The tees, fairways and greens were all above average. Truly a beautiful course that you will enjoy playing.
