The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Fun
Went as a twosome paired up with nice folks. Nice day. Mediocre golf for me lol
Good course. Terrible pace.
Very happy with the condition of the course. Fun, challenging, and very unique. Disappointing that there was no marshal enforcing pace of play. 5 hour round. Group in front of us was very slow and no one in front of them for 3 holes.. Where was the marshal?
second Az round
Down for a couple weeks and have wanted to try the wigwam. Beautiful area and courses. The group I was paired with didnt show and there were no groups ahead or behind for quite a while. Course starter and ranger were very friendly and helpful. Played 2 balls the round and didnt hit anyone til the 14-15 hole. I usually play fast and so to play at my own pace is always the best and I play better too. This course is very nice with just a couple wet spots here and there. A few thin areas but overall very nice. The greens were not super fast like my home course and after over reading some breaks I kind of dialed in a bit better and pace was consistent.
Disrespectful staff
Course Ranger told us to “take a hint” when we complained of the group behind us harassing us and hitting balls near us. He then proceeded to follow us for the next 5 holes making our experience very uncomfortable and not fun at all. He was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I’ve been golfing for my whole life and never had an experience like this.
Bag boys at the beginning acted like they were too good for us and the lady in the clubhouse had a similar attitude. Overall customer service was terrible and I will never play this course again.
Played the Red and Blue Courses
Great courses that were in great shape. I played here back to back days because I liked the Red course so much the first day. Rental clubs were nice and in great condition
Great value at Wigwam Gold
Course was in excellent shape and pace of play was fantastic! Played in 3.5 hours . Highy recommend.
Great day
Wigwam is always great to play and the blue course was no exception. Even though there is heavy traffic on the course this time of the year it was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent with no pushing or stalling. Play time was just under 4 hrs.
We had trouble finding the cart girl for refreshments but it seems she was looking after the Gold course as well which would have stretched her availability. Suggest loading up before playing to avoid expecting cart services.
Checkin staff was polite and professional. Concierge and bag service was top drawer.
Highly recommend this venue
First time playing
Played blue and gold. They let me do a run through for cart fees which was super cool. Mats only on the range which was lame coming from up north only hitting in sims was a downer not to hit off grass. Course was muddy and soaked. I’m sure it’s not easy to keep courses pristine but I’ve golfed a lot in AZ and never had it like that. Both courses fun and well laid out
Elevated greens
Course was in fantastic shape. Only complaint was I believe they left the sprinklers on overnight on the back 9. Quite a few holes overly watered however that’s not normal and I don’t at least I hope not to see that again
Overwatering on back nine
Course setup and general condition was great! !! One HUGE complaint was I believe the grounds keeper overwatered the back nine of golf course OR maybe sprinklers got left on overnight. Standing water on course fairways, rough, and cart path. very sloppy and muddy !! Spoke with staff and members and they said it was unusual. I will definitely be back to play again !!!
Great Condition
Very nice course. Excellent condition. Play in 4 hours. Would come back again.
Excellent round, pace was slower due to a tournament going on
