The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

It's summertime..
I get it, it's summertime in Phoenix so the courses are suffering. Having said that, It hasn't even really been hot yet this year. And for the fairways to be in as poor of condition as these are, I was really disappointed. The greens are in decent shape, and the tee boxes are a decent shape, but the fairways are very, very sparse. Grass is hard to find in some places.
Not worth the money
No water jugs anywhere
They have water old
Fountains with hot water
Fairways dry and hard.
Great Layout
Sneaky tough with no frills golf. You see what you get. No gimmicks. tough small greens. well bunkered.
Wonderful tract
3 to Choose From
Having 3 courses to choose from there, I wondered what was reason why it was always difficult to get on the Red Course but not the Gold and Blue courses. The red was in great shape. Nice challenging layout. Greens were a bit bumpy but it was expected as they were bouncing back from being aerated. Loved everything about the course from tee to green on all 18.
Good Round with Cousins
Excellent service from the pro shop to the car girl course is in good playing condition i will definitely play again
Solid Course
Signage to bag drop and clubhouse could be updated. The sign was faded and hard to see. Check in was simple and the staff were pleasant. The course had a “different” layout with 3- par 5’s and 3- par 3’s on the front 9. It is open and not much trouble but fun to play. I would recommend for beginners and seniors. I played in July so the fairways were burnt out which gave some really tough shots with wedges on tight lies. All in all it is a solid course and I'm sure would play better during winter.
Good Times
Pace of play was perfect, weather and course conditions were awesome. I’ll be back!
Layout
Pretty wide open off the tea, overall I liked the course
Greens were Nice, but....
The greens were nice (especially for summer), but on most of the fairways the grass was cut very short with lots of barren areas.
Great value
Really enjoyed playing here. Tee boxes and fairways were in good to great condition considering the extreme heat of the Arizona summer. 7/9 the temp was 100 when i left the course at 10:45. The greens were also in good shape. The layout is close quarters. Holes run side by side so you need to be aware of your poximities to tee boxes and the possibility of catching an inexperienced golfers errant tee shot. Very enjoyable morning of golf.
