The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Great course fast paced. Played 18 in just under 3 1/2 hours. Still cart path only.
Was a so so this time
I rated my experience a 3 star this time due to various little things which made it a frustrating round. I was the first one off on the Blue course. There was an older couple behind me that would not play through when I offered it to them, but kept on my heels so much that I skipped 2 par 3's to try to create some space between us. The bad part is that I was on pace for an under 3hr round on my own! SMH Next was the grounds crew! They usually would stop their mowers or movements for golfers shots, but not on this day!! The only one who did stop was the young person who was setting up the greens. I'll never book early again if thats how it is.
Would come back
Played a round 1 PM tee time on the Red Course as a preview of an AGA Tournament Round this Sunday. First time ever at the course. Greens in Excellent shape, most everything else Very Good conditions. Would have been better if the groups ahead of us were playing ready golf - slowed things down on almost every hole. I would come back again and play one of the other two courses here, and am looking forward to playing there this Sunday.,
Will Definitely be Back
We had a wonderful day at Wigwam.. Great course conditions. Friendly staff.. Cant wait to try their other courses
Wow
This course has been on my to do list for some time and I finally got out to play the golf course this past weekend. The fairways were great, the greens were receptive & true, and the bunkers were a joy to play from. Overall a great experience and I will be back.
Beautiful course
Course was good. Staff was friendly. Still was cart path only which when I booked it said 90 degree rule which knowing that I probably would have booked the gold course. Pace of play was fast we had no one in front or behind and it was just two of us golfing so we were done in just over 3 hours. Only issue I found was by the end the workers and mowers looping around us was a bit excessive
Played Blue Course Great Time
Lucky to be the first to play the course after overseeding took place. First off the tee box and had a great time. Cart path only and still had a great time. Fairways lush and maybe didn’t get that summer like roll my game needs…lol.
Sunday
The course was just over seeded.
Fairways were green
Putting surfaces were slow, but very nice.
Red Course in Good Condition
New grass abounds, as does CPO (not much of a problem for me, as I walk, but for the delay created for those traversing the fairways from the cart path). Some tee boxes were still filling-in; fairways lush, though needing to be cut; rough was tall (making it hard to find your ball), also needing a cut; greens were firm and at a good pace; white sand traps did need some additional sand. Pace of play was 4 hours (with our foursome keeping pace with the twosome in front of us. A Hot Deal price made it very affordable. Weather was outstanding, with just a minor breeze at times. Will definitely venture again the 1-hour commute to Wigwam in the near future, now that the Scottsdale courses have returned to their extreme rates for the fall/winter/spring seasons.
Great for post overseed
Played right after overseed. Nice course, just long fairways, and long slow greens. To be expected after overseed, but this slowed up play a lot since it was cart path only. I played for $60 in these conditions so I feel that was fair. If it was any more I’d say it wasn’t worth it.
Would like to see this track again in about a month.
