The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Sunday
The course was just over seeded.
Fairways were green
Putting surfaces were slow, but very nice.
Red Course in Good Condition
New grass abounds, as does CPO (not much of a problem for me, as I walk, but for the delay created for those traversing the fairways from the cart path). Some tee boxes were still filling-in; fairways lush, though needing to be cut; rough was tall (making it hard to find your ball), also needing a cut; greens were firm and at a good pace; white sand traps did need some additional sand. Pace of play was 4 hours (with our foursome keeping pace with the twosome in front of us. A Hot Deal price made it very affordable. Weather was outstanding, with just a minor breeze at times. Will definitely venture again the 1-hour commute to Wigwam in the near future, now that the Scottsdale courses have returned to their extreme rates for the fall/winter/spring seasons.
Great for post overseed
Played right after overseed. Nice course, just long fairways, and long slow greens. To be expected after overseed, but this slowed up play a lot since it was cart path only. I played for $60 in these conditions so I feel that was fair. If it was any more I’d say it wasn’t worth it.
Would like to see this track again in about a month.
Decent not great
It is just ok... definitely needs some TLC. Obviously during over seed season you can't expect everything to be great but I'm not sure it's that great after over-seed season. I'll give it another try in the future.
No Marshal and pricey
We were sent out following a men's foursome that played so slow that there were 2 holes open in front of them before we got to 5. Just disappointed that Marshall did not get them to either pick up pace or let people play through. Group of ladies behind us were asking why course was playing so slowly and they were walking the course. A little pricey for a course that had just had overfeeding. I love this course just had a bad experience today.
great time, staff very friendly, course in great shape.
Good facility
Good golf course....played the red course and it was carts on path because of overseeding, minor inconvenience. Staff was great, friendly and efficient.
Blue Course - Good Round
BLUE COURSE: The course was preparing for overseeding, and we knew that when booking the round, so no real issues with course conditions. Short holes, wide fairways, but target approach shots. Deep bunkers guard the undulating greens. At the turn, you are not near the clubhouse, so get all the drinks, etc. you can before the round or if you see the cart girl.
October
Tough time of the year for golf players due to over seeding on AZ golf courses. The Wigwam will always be a jewel in the desert to true golf enthusiasts. Thank you Lord Jesus
