Second time at the PGA west complex but first at this course. A very different clubhouse experience compared to the Nicklaus course. Less grand and polished feeling, felt less premium for the high price tag. The course however was magnificent, my first time on a desert style course and incredibly enjoyable all round.

With that being said there was a frustrating club rental experience having called the club the day before to speak to the rental manager, who ensured me there would be plenty of stiff shaft club availability for our group to rent. I was assured there were more than enough on property to accommodate our 6 total players (across 2 groups). When we arrived we were told there was only 1 set available and the rest would have to be regular flex. When I mentioned that I had checked the day before to make sure we could be accomodated, I was told that the policy was “first come first served” by the lady in the club shop, so afternoon golfers who are looking to rent beware.

Course was in great condition and a joy to play. Easy to navigate from the whites with the right amount of challenge from that length course. Lots of sand to navigate but nothing unfair.

Other than paying the rental fee to play a premium and challenging course with clubs that weren’t appropriate, the experience was top draw.

PGA West Dunes course is a very good course with an interesting layout and great undulating greens. It is tough enough with plenty of water and traps spotted throughout.

It does need more sand in the traps, larger tee blocks due to the many divots on the tees and a couple of dogs to keep the ducks in the ponds. Seventeen green was unplayable due to the volume of duck fecal matter on the green.

Overall great lunch before and good experience playing PGA West Dunes course.

Excellent fair course with wide fairways, and very fast greens

Had a phenomenal day but an unforgiving round. Course was in great shape and played like nothing else. Be prepared for an errant shot and an awful recovery shot. Still one of the best times I have had playing a round.

This course is extremely challenging with fast, extremely undulating greens, and lots of false fronts. We had a great time playing the course.

Had a 3pm T time , so only got in 15 holes. But what a nice course. Great conditions, wide fairways, and beautiful views of the mountains. I’d play it again in a heartbeat.

Got an outstanding deal to play this course just 8 days after the American Express tournament was played! Wow, what an experience!! Great conditions, friendly staff. A must for anyone coming to this area to play golf.

Great course with great views. Front 9 all mountains. Back 9 last 5 holes were just amazing!

Super fun course with fabulous views. Highly recommend! So much more fun to play than the Nicholas Tournament course!

The Nicklaus stadium course is a second shot course. The landing zones off the tee are very friendly. The rough was way down when we played. With that said, the approach shots to the penal green complexes are crucial. The greens are all raised and fall off to deep bunkers or deep chipping areas. The bunkers have very soft sand which was challenging for me.

Course was in fabulous condition. Staff was extremely friendly. Weather was great! A must play when out in the desert.

Great service. Course in excellent condition. Pace of play was perfect. Views were amazing. Highly recommend.
