HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
Realizing this is transition time for the grass from rye to Bermuda, it was still unacceptable conditions. The fairways and greens had NO grass on them in many places, and what grass was there was so sparse it might as well not have been there.
Water is the answer to make Bermuda grow back in, and it's quite obvious they aren't applying enough. I've played 4 courses in the last two weeks in the valley and they were all in better shape. Save your money, go somewhere else until November when the rye is overseeded again.
PGA West, Pete Dye - pretty good
The course itself was in decent shape, but the greens were more like browns. There were many, especially on the front 9 that were just dirt or mud.
Eat your Greens more like Cleveland Browns
The place is spectacular with the friendly staff, range & layout. Even the temperature was perfect for late May. The greens however are very sad, they seem to have some kind of algae or disease on them, many were torn up, bumpy & spotty in several areas. I know course maintenance is about to go down in July but maybe they want to move it up. Sad part was I hyped this place up so much to my friends who came out to play, then to have these kind of greens at a PGA West Course is rather embarrassing, I think I apologized several times. We will return & will play this course again, just going to give it some time to heal properly.
Greens terrible
The greens were in very rough shape
Some greens you couldn’t even putt on
Greens Suck
They charge a lot of money just for you to be putting on dirt. Ridiculous, they (starter) should at least give you a heads up how crappie the greens are. Other than that, it’s a fun track.
Challenge accepted
They course layout and pin placement was fun and challenging. Lots of marrow and wide fairways. Only issue was alot of the greens were in terrible shape. They were airated while back and had not finished repair. Greens were brown and very bumpy. Lots of dirt around the green edges and even I'm the middle of a few. Other thank that great course and was nice late afternoon we were last ones out so could take out time.
Sad Sight
I honestly wouldn’t have guessed this course was in that bad of shape from other reviews. When I approached the first green, I was horrified. I can’t believe the current state PGA West has left their golf courses after the new ownership change. Obviously they don’t understand desert golf. As I have lived here my whole life as a local. It’s disappointing to see a prestigious name like PGA West to be turned into such a gimmick. This is a plea to have them understand that ITS ABOUT THE COURSES. Everything else is a bonus.
Nice but expected “more”
The course was beautiful except for the extra dry greens with burn spots. Played another course in town the day before for half the price and the greens were in better condition. I know I’m being picky during a drought but it should have been better for the price. It was nice to have the range practice balls and the staff was definitely nice.
Course Not to Expectations But Staff Very Good
The fairways were beaten up and the greens even more so. The staff were all very helpful.
Highly recommend this course
Beautiful course. Friendly staff. Great prices. Greens were in okay condition. Only complaint is that we couldn’t hit a driver on the driving range.
Would highly recommend this course.
A slow Saturday
Great course, well maintained, on this Saturday, the pace was a little slow for our twosome. slow play a couple of hole ahead did not help.
Overall a good time even if the weather was in the high 90s.
Rock Hard
This is a nice track, The greens are way too firm even well struck wedges are releasing like a mfer, c'mon s
Dudes u can do better .
