PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course

Beautiful course especially the back 9 that goes around the mountains. Starter Brian was super friendly too would totally recommend.

We were the first group of the day and I believe we played in four hours and 20 minutes or so, which is great because we took our time, took some cool photos, and tried to enjoy ourselves. The front nine is interesting in that I was struggling to pick out targets to aim at, but that’s what made it interesting and fun and certainly different than the golf we are used to playing back home. The first few holes on the back side are incredibly forgettable, but after that you get some really amazing views and intriguing golf holes. The only complaints I have is that we didn’t see the beverage cart until the 13th hole and the halfway house was still closed when we made the turn. It warmed up fast, so a couple of beers and a Gatorade would have been nice somewhere around the whole six or seven. Great course with amazing views that I will undoubtedly play again. Also, huge props to the golf course maintenance team, because the tees, fairways, rough, and greens were absolutely perfect.

Service was lacking

We had one of the first early morning teetimes, and the range was not set up or ready, no refreshments, sly coffee, ready for the guests either…

Disappointing

Incredible course with awesome vistas everywhere you look.

Thoroughly enjoyed the round but it took 5:30 for the round, way to slow, especially mid week.

Had to wait on every shot. On the par 3’s, we typically had two foursomes waiting. Staff/ranger came by several times and indicated that they had a couple of slow groups that they “couldn’t convince” to speed up. Back nine is better than the front. Pete Dye is always a challenge.

My only complaint is the quality of the sand in the bunkers

One would think being in a desert the bunkers would be quality but they need some care and filled with adequate sand and not hard pan 😱

But if you avoid them then you should have nothing to complain about

First time my wife and played the course and we loved it! The course is in immaculate condition. We will definitely play this course again once we come back to visit Palm spring!

Course and views are great. The men’s bathroom and locker area was not good. The bathroom walls were dirty and overall condition dated.

Staff good got is out a hour early

I have played the Mountain course several times and always enjoy it. The views on the back nine are amazing! The course was generally in good condition but the greens extremely slow. The pace of play was better than expected at under 4 hours.

In 40 years of golf around the world this w a s the most beautiful mountain course!

Course was great as always but it was over 104 with no shade. Fortunately staff members brought around iced towels. A game changer.
