The ranch-style Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook is just minutes away from Temecula wine country. All 132 rooms have either been renovated or will be soon. A heated outdoor pool, four lighted tennis courts and fitness room are available to guests. The golf course starts out narrow but gets more scenic with more elevation changes later in the round.Facts

Overpriced if you have a rider
I brought my 6 year old with me and had played here 3 other times with him and it was great (no fee). This time I was informed I had to pay a $25 rider fee. which I did since we were stuck (came from Carlsbad)
I'll pay a $10 fee or something but $25 is ridiculous. I won't come back unless this changes. Way nicer courses charge $10 for a rider! Over the top and we already were paying $70. Not worth it!

Loved Pala Masa
The layout was fun, challenging and had a good variety! The setting in the hills gave a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.
The staff were exceptionally helpful.

Great place to play
The staff is very friendly I have a great time every time I play there sometimes pace of play slows down a lot. Courses kept up very well some greens are a little bit worse than others but for the most part for the value it is great.

Fairways non existent
The course was in OK shape but the fairways were nonexistent. There was no difference between the rough and the fairways they really need to do something about that I won’t play it again until that’s rectified

Nice track
Course is good. Golf cart management on fairways is very aggressive. Allowing on fairways and distance to green - disabling carts is very different from any other course. Causes a very tough play process in knowing yardage w access to clubs...

Nice course with several elevation changes
Golf course fairways on the front nine were pretty rough! Cart path only on the entire front nine and 3 additional holes on the back. Very friendly staff. Several elevation changes throughout the course. Greens were nice but difficult to read with the hills. Very interesting layout.

Fun to play
Course is very straight with just a couple of dog legs. Fairway is longer grass not as tight as our home course..

NOT for the Golfer but the Superintendent
No excuse offered or seen for not allowing even handicapped golfers to drive on the fairways! Front nine- 100% cart path only....but fairways in pristine condition, and obvious NO overseeding had taken place in weeks!
Back Nine was promised to be cart-accessible...not true! Even "handicapped' - designated carts could not drive on half the fairways on the back nine!
And again, fairways in pristine shape!
NO warning of these limitations when the booking was made, and these four senior golfers -two visiting for the first time - will NEVER return due principally to the lack of concern for the paying customer!
The PRO Shop response: "We are just told daily by the Superintendent, no reason, we just do what we're told..."

Good Course
Course is good. Really no complaints about the greens compared to other courses. On the other hand, driving range is in serious need of rehab, especially the driving mats. Carts in general could use a little TLC as their age is showing. Restaurant and bar is something straight out of the late 80s. If you don’t mind the decor the food is not bad.
