The Resort at Pelican Hill
About The Resort at Pelican Hill
The Resort at Pelican Hill is one of SoCal's trendiest getaways, whether it's for golf or to unwind. The resort takes inspiration from the 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Each one-story bungalow guest room or suite features its own limestone fireplace, private terrace and marble bath. The 2- to 4-bedroom villas are secluded within their own gated community. Guests can lounge at the Coliseum pool and spa or shuttle to the Crystal Cove beach. Tom Fazio's North and South courses both kiss the Pacific Ocean with outstanding views throughout the round. Six restaurants will tempt your appetite.Facts

The Par 3 3rd. Photo submitted by acontinuouslean on 02/12/2018
ROI only OK
As always, great views on the North Course, and it was a clear day. Unfortunately, pace of play (also seemingly as always) was pretty slow. In defense of the marshals they DID try to keep things moving - part of the issue is the distance between tees and greens, particularly for people who have never played here before. Again, not bad but questionable given the rates...
Pace and pin positions
As always great views on the South Course, but be ready for a 5 hour round and flags sitting on crowns. Views are spectacular but must be better for the price.
Best on SoCal
This course never ceases to amaze me. From the time you walk onto the property till the time you leave you feel like a king! Everything is In perfect condition and the course is extremely fun especially in playing on the south side. I would definitely recommend this course a friend
Awesome Course
Tremendous property in swanky hills above Crystal Cove. The North Course is well designed with many good golf holes. Tom Fazio quality on very special piece of land. Panoramic views of Ocean on every hole, mansions built on cliffs of canyons are cool to see but not too close to take away from the game. Getable for a good striker of the golf ball , forgiving enough for the high handicapper. Overall, not an easy course (have you played a Fazio that is?). The greens large and undulated with decent speed make for a challenging layout, especially from 6500 yards or more. Par 3s solid holes, 4s and 5s are the stars of this course. I got a deal time of $205 and thought it a good value for this quality of golf in a great location. Torrey Pines is a true ‘Championship Course’ with several iconic holes and my favorite in Southern California. Pelican Hills North is a close second. I look forward to play Pelican Hills South in the future. Cheers
Course is over rated for the cost
Pace of play was slow. Greens were beat up. Not worth the money.
5 amazing Par 3’s
This course is on a very special property with forced carries over canyons that remind you of the Caribbean with the ocean in the background. But what really stands out are 5 Stellar Par 3’s Fazio always knows how to get the best land to build on. The North is good bit the South is better if you only have a chance to play one. If you need a caddie Jason was amazing best caddie I ever had his knowledge of not just the course but also the game is second to none and the greens are tricky with the ocean and canyons.
Nice course
Nice weather , nice. View
Generally it was nice.
Perfection!
This is my favorite course at Pelican Hill. This North Course has gorgeous fairways, beautifully rolled greens and stunning views. It’s a tough course that will challenge you so play the tee’s based on handicap. If you want to be impressed by a golf course and have a wonderful time playing go here. Green Fees are high but twilight gives you a big break. Stunning course, a must play if you’re in the area.
As Good As Golf Gets!
This is a must play golf course for any level. I would consider this course one of the best courses in the country. Stunning Mountain and Ocean views, PGA maintenance conditions , and supper friendly staff. If you love golf you will love this course.
Newport Coast Gem
Challenging 18 hole layout with many carries over ravines. Loved the course, greens, and staff.
I’d play it again
Great track, with challenging holes for all levels of players. Beautiful views to go with the great golf. Thumbs up!!
Superior to the South
Though the South Course at Pelican Hill gets a bit more attention for its two oceanside holes, the North is the better (and more lightly played by visitors) layout, with better overall long-range ocean views, as well as a better collection of holes. It's a fairly typical Fazio affair, just with some great vistas and canyon-hopping routing. Given 10 rounds on property, I'd allot the North 6 of them.
Gorgeous views with some routing quirks
On one level, that Tom Fazio was able to fit two golf courses, let alone one, onto the terrain at Pelican Hill is quite a feat. Still the South Course ended up with a bit of an odd routing - lots of driving between a few holes - in order to execute the course. The 18 constituent holes, though, are solid, with wonderful ocean views And some fun contouring around several greens. The oceanside par-3 12th and 13th holes are great selfie spots, too
Great course but
few holes provide coastal view, although the name of the course is ocean..

Beautiful and challenging course.
Played south course
Ready to
Play next week again
Beautiful Course - Poor Greens
Beautiful views from the course but the greens were slow, soft and very bumpy.
