Great hidden gem
Wonderful place to go for a relaxing 9 holes. Very kid friendly and for for all ages.
Preferred over Legends course
Firstly the lack of a driving range was disappointing especially as people say range was shut in June, too months ago, for maintenance. Yet I did she some people using it.
Having played the legends course last week I found the Reserve greens were in better condition with the exception of divot like damage on the 5th. Fairways were a little boggier than Legends, in parts. A number of plugged iron and driver shots. Bunkers looked in good nick.
I find the course a little trickier than the Legends despite not being quite as aesthetically pleasing. I have played many times in past 15 years and I can't say it's any better or worse than previous visits. I struggled a little with American wispy rough but that's just the nature of playing abroad. My normal courses are at the celtic manor in wales, Ryder cup 2010 venue, so maybe I have been spoiled recently.
Slow Play
Nice course. It’s a shame that being a resort course it allows residents to pay one price and play as much as they want. After beingbtold in the pro shop that the front nine should have no one on it, I got behind a twosome on the second hole. They had 1,set of clubs to share. I would think that every golfer has to have their own clubs. They practically drove the cart onto the green. Didn’t offer to let me play through as they continued to pass the clubs s back and forth.
This is a shame because the first time I played here it was great. I love the course but without a Marshall to keep this from happening it ruined the round for me. I probably will pass on playing here again.
Horrible staff
Booked a late round trying to get a quick round in. I guess they wanted to go home so they made up some bs about thunder in the area which there wasnt and would not let me out. Funny though that before i even went up to pro shop they had already put all the golf carts away. This is the second time they have done this.
Reserve for better
We played the day after some heavy rain and we had to stick to the cart paths which made it difficult with distances and club selection.
Not well signed to first tee but we got round as not many playing.
The course is challenging and if it had not been so muddy we would have enjoyed it more. Even had balls plugging.
No help with loading clubs to and from car which is unusual for USA
May be back in December
The Reserve
Great layout. Challenging holes. Some with carries. Worth the play. New management has done a great job bringing this course back into shape.
Great course decent rate
I think this course is excellent. Great layout challenging pin placements. Only complaint is the greens are starting to get thick. Other than that it is never busy and I enjoy coming out and playing this course.
Something is bad
This course has a great layout. That being said, the cart staff was good. Pro shop guy was on his phone sitting down and looked bothered when we came in. No updates on the course so we thought it would be great shape. Putting green was a disaster. Go to play and the greens are TERRIBLE. I dont know what happened but it sure is ashamed. Then we find a 6 some ahead of us after 4 holes and refused to let us through. Ended up just leaving the greens were terrible. Cart guy asked if everything is ok we explained and he said "yeah it's been that bad for a little over a year now". I dont know why there was no alert or why they wouldn't tell us up front but dont waste your time like we did. Perfectly good day for golf wasted.
Our new favorite course
We really enjoy playing here but, due to Florida weather, AGAIN we got rained out! The staff is great except one outside person nasty attitude and he won't stop us from returning. Great course, wide open and the layout is perfecto!!!
Not what is once was
This course was in good condition overall bit not what it was a free years ago.
The Legends
Great course in very good condition, some of the holes 8, 10,14,15 personally i think are spectacular
Bring plenty of balls!
We had a 7:09 tee time but the course was a bit backed up so we tee’d off after the 7:17 group. The course seems very flexible with their tee times which is convenient when you are on vacation. The course conditions were extremely wet due to overnight rains and sprinklers. A little too wet for my likened. We even got the cart stuck a few times.
The course has plenty of water and you will find it! My threesome lost over 30 balls to the wetlands! Typically we all shoot 85-95 but we were 100-120 today due to the conditions, bunkers, and water.
Challenging course even though the tips played 6500 yards. Lots of water, right fairways, and the homes on the course play a role.
Awesome
Challenging course,. But in excellent shape. Enjoyed the day beautiful scenery
Fun layout, good conditions
This course is in our regular rotation. We always have a great time, the course is in good shape and the layout is fun. We'll definitely be back!
Need some work
Payed before was always in good shape. Now needs a lot of work not in real good shape at all
Good Value and Challenging
Even with the heavy rains the day before, the course was in pretty good shape. It does offer a challenge and the varied greens were a good experience. Saw quite a bit of Florida wildlife; gators, snakes, and turtles. Definitely worth playing.
Good last out
I have always enjoyed playing this course. It's fun challenging but doesn't best you up. Our pace of play was great being one of the first groups out so no problem there.
Great value.
Really enjoy Orange Lake Reserve. Does not seem to be as busy as many other Central Florida courses. Challenging layout, but open enough to enjoy.. Nice conditions.
