Got to know where to place your shots
They just sanded not too long ago but they still rolled ok. Pitches landed really soft and chips skipped some due to the sand but what are you going to do. Check in was a breeze, cart asked us for our receipt, said we didn’t get one, he said you a golf-nower we said yes, he said get outta here. Now I know there was no malice and he was kidding but even that made us feel unwanted. Look if you don’t golf now people out there don’t agree to post tee times. Everyone else was great, everyone else meaning the cart girl. We were paired up with a single and cruised along nicely. Conditions were good lots of water and sand. We enjoyed ourselves and will come back at some point and will recommend.
Legends at Orange Lake
Near Disney. Worth the play. Challenging holes. Some tees and greens showing stress.
NICE LAYOUT
First time playing this course and really enjoyed the wide open layout. Every hole had its own challenges for shot placements. Nevertheless, a nice round. Will come back !!
A Local's Review
As a local, I can tell you that this is a really good track for the price point in the area. Legends is a terrific layout with lots of challenges, and some pretty stiff penalties for misplayed shots. There are definitely a couple of holes where it helps to know some secrets (#4, #8, #16, #17) that the course only yields on multiple playings. Still, you can score here. I'm roughly a 10 handicap and I've shot everywhere from 79-96 here. I think that's terrific.
There are some negatives: It can play like a resort course, but without the resort course amenities. That is, play can be slow (not on this day), and so can the greens. Usually this comes with the tradeoff of excellent service, but I have found the staff to be a little chilly. That said, the starter and the cart server were both friendly and the cart server made a lot of appearances.
In short, you can play more luxurious golf in Orlando (and you will pay for it), but in the $50-$70 price range, this is a fun place to play.
Great place
This is still my favorite place for a quick vacation with lots to do and beautiful golf course.
Nice round!
The course was in good shape (greens aerated likely 2 weeks ago). Cups needed some attention, that could have been to let the grow in process.. the score card is good, but the views could be more accurate with regard to water hazards, and the direction to shoot for hole 17 green. Worth the trip!
Terrible greens
Greens were terrible, not well maintained. Fairways were mediocre. Not what you expect at the price hey charge. Very disappointed.
OUR 2ND FAVORITE
We started playing Tuesday the 14th. I was so proud of myself - birdied the 2nd/3rd holes then the storm hit. We got a raincheck and played today - LOVE IT!! We like nice wide open courses and we love Legends. We usually play Reserve but, now we're Legend fans. Great day, not many out - surprising. Kourtney in the Pro Shop is very friendly and great to chat with. We will be going back to Legends. We saw a beautiful fish and a baby alligator!!
Legends
Fun course. Great layout. Greens a bit rough because they aerated the greens about 2 weeks ago, so other than greens, great course.
Great Course!
Challenging, yet fair course layout; next time i'll play the black tees (played the white). Enjoyed my round as a single. Everyone out there let me play through and I finished in 3 hours.
Nice
Golf course is in good shape and is challenging to play. Fun course for any level of player.
airated greens so changed course
they were airating the back 9 grens so we switched to the reserve course to play 18. course was still in great shape but so im told the legends is better so hoping to play there in the future. all in all had a great round on a lovely course
Quality Round at the Reserve
I typically make an effort to play the Legends course but since they were punching the greens, I opted instead to play the Reserve course. It is a small step down from the Legends but a quality round for the $50 GN fee.
I did prefer the front nine more so than the back as most the holes wind through the secluded trees whereas the back, you have several holes with houses on both sides of the fairway (particularly 10 & 11) which I personally don't care for.
Pace of play was excellent for an early morning around and check in was efficient. As noted by earlier comments, pro shop is contained within the Marketplace, but there is a bag drop area, you ring the bell and individual promptly puts your bag on a cart.
Greens were tad bit slow but rolled true and every sand trap I looked at was efficiently raked the day previous.
All in all, a good quality round.
Challenging Layout
This was my first time playing this course. The course is challenging with water in play on most holes. The score card does not show course layout or pin placement. You will need to pay attention to your golf phone GPS to know where to hit the ball. The greens were slow but seemed to get a bit faster as they dried out.
Be aware of residents walking the course, which was annoying at times. Really surprised that there are no rangers on the course to keep residents out of danger.
I would rate higher if course layout was provided and course managed better.
Nice course.
It's a nice course and somewhat challenging. I would recommend this course.
