Solid but Overpriced
Played with a 9 AM tee time this morning. I knew it was expensive when I booked it, but $300-ish per person was steep. On vacation, I was ok with it thinking that I would get a classic, high-end Florida golf experience. As the holes went by, I was waiting to be impressed by the layout and the conditions. The conditions were definitely very good, but for that price tag, seeing divots left unfilled and ball marks on the green was a little disappointing. All in all, it was a nice round, but I have played courses just as nice and exciting as Saltleaf that are $150 cheaper. I think they get away with charging what they do because it’s located right next to a Hyatt and Ritz, but still, I wouldn’t rush over here again unless the price dropped dramatically simply due to the fact that the course lacks a uniqueness and the conditions were very good, but not quite enough to justify the price tag.
Recommend for anyone in the area
Hard to find great public courses in the area. This one checks that box. Had 7:40am tee time and flew through the course. Layout is great and course conditions were superb. Staff was awesome and friendly. Highly recommend for anyone in the area to play.
Warm up area is not a full driving range, but fills the need to get warmed up before a round. The price is a tad high (but that’s normal around here). Recommend waiting for a deal to play.
Highly recommended
Played an early morning round and went through quickly. Layout is great, staff is awesome, and conditions are mint. The driving range is more of a warm up area to get ready for the round. Would and will definitely play this course again.
Nice Course
Nice course,,well maintained. Good value for what I paid, which was about half of the full price. Would play again at that rate.
Good but expensive
The layout is a treat in that it is secluded and not in a housing development. It’s peaceful and serene. The course is not very challenging in that there is minimal water in play and very few bunkers or waste areas around the greens. The conditions are good, greens are in great shape, but I expect more from a course that expensive.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Course was in great condition. Food was great as well. Definitely recommend. Would play again
Saltleaf review
Course was in great shape. Pace of play was great!
Nice course, overpriced
I expected a more stern test of golf from this course. Back nine is very average to easy. The great condition of the course alone was not enough to justify the high greens fee. This is a good course to play if someone else is paying.
Nice play but very pricey
Not real exciting layout. Green are hard and a little slow. Very much of a country club feel. Great pace played in less than 4 hours. Love all the revetted bunkers. Going back to play again tomorrow.
Great condition
Enjoyed this course very much
Greens were in excellent condition but I found them slow probably a 9 at best on the stimp
Beautiful surroundings and no homes on course felt surreal
No sand bunkers which looked quite different!
Don’t be fooled by the slope rating it’s a lot more challenging than rating
Not worth the money
Paid $300, nice layout but will not be back to pay $300 for this course. The course was empty on a Sunday morning, I can only assume because of the $300 price tag. Greens were sticky, should roll much better for a $300 course. The property was nice, lots of space.
Pristine
Unbelievable condition. Great staff. Played with a friend who is a 15 so we played blue/white. Fun day all around
