Always a great layout
Course conditions were okay. The worst I’ve seen them here. Greens were patchy and did not look as good as before.
Hats off
Your course maintenance team needs to be commended for a job well done. 👏
Greens need work
Crooked Cat is a great layout in overall very good shape. The greens seem to be suffering a bit as they are patchy and not as fast as usual. Still reasonable to putt, however not as good as I have seen in the past. Hopefully this is temporary and maintenance is able to get them back to normal.
Greens needed work
I don’t know what happened to the greens, but it wasn’t grass
Always good
I got the course when it wasn't at its best, and it was STILL excellent. The greens were not in good shape -- bumpy and splotched with weeds. Every other aspect of the course was excellent and in great shape, as always.
Greens a bit rough
I was a bit surprised with all the patches of weeds in the green given that this is OCN. I hadn't played here since maybe Sept and these weeds were definitely unexpected. Hopefully they get it turned around. The rest of the course is in pretty good shape but the greens are where it needs to be the best shape. Surprisingly Stoneybrook West which just reopened last year has better greens.
It’s Starting to Get Hot!
A lot of brown beginning to appear throughout. Tees, bare spots- all appearing in last few weeks. Greens are uneven and all are experiencing some type of weed/fungus growth. On top of it, the person checking me on at the desk was rude, bordering on nasty. What happened with this place?
Coarse ok but greens in rough shape worst I've ever seen
what happened to the greens?
i played ocn earlier this year and the conditions were incredible. but mid april it’s not very good. fungus all over the greens, chipping areas and tee boxes. what a bummer, and without any discount.
Both tracks 5 stars
A must play in the Orlando area. Both amazing tracks, got 36 holes in on the day. Crooked cat slightly better conditions then panther. Replay rates available at pro shop. Delicious turkey club sandwich. Can’t wait to play again when I’m in the Orlando area.
Goodbye OCN
What you get for EIGHTY dollars at Crooked Cat is 30-minute waits per hole. They’ve never attempted to solve the pace-of-play disaster that is #12.
The problem was a group of 24 they let out – likely comprised of 90% non-golfers. That’s a problem of the American golf industry, not OCN, that doesn’t restrict access to courses by skill level. So, good golfers end up hating golf.
There was no attempt to refund my money.
The recently-punched greens are covered with splotches of something green that does not look like grass.
Where I’ll be playing now for TWENTY to FORTY dollars: Zellwood, Mayfair, Ventura, CC of Mt. Dora, Redtail, Black Bear, Dubsdread, Winter Park 9, Winter Park Pines, Legends of Clermont, Wedgefield, Eagle Dunes, Deltona Club, etc., etc.
Goodbye Crooked Cat. Goodbye Panther Lakes. Goodnight Moon. Goodbye OCN.
Fun Par 3
Went w/12 yr old son. Good time, he enjoyed it. Pace was slow, but that was fine. Price for kids was outstanding at $5! We'll definitely play it again.
Greens were in terrible shape
it appears that they aerated and sanded the greens but there was no notification of this when booking the round. I wouldn't have played this course and paid this much to play on these greens. They were basically brown and bare.
