Aerated recently, but...
other than that it was excellent condition and layout.
Vacation golf
Panther lake had just been aerated and I was not informed of this fact. Greens had aeration holes all over and ball could not roll smoothly at all. I wish this information was listed upon booking or I would have made other arrangements. I would have expected some discounted pricing for a course in this condition. Second course was closed and part of driving range was closed. None of this info was listed upon booking !! Just be honest with these situations and let customers know this key information prior to booking this course!
Course was well worth the money and the golf trip. Challenging yet open fairways. I will definitely be going back to play this course again and also wanting to try the Crooked cat course they have as well
Great Layout
First time playing the course and must say what a great layout it is. Course was only a few weeks from shutting down to redo greens which were struggling with contamination. Would love to see this course in peak condition.
Course not in good shape
Staff was great but the course was pretty rough… numerous fairways and tee boxes were in bad shape. It appears that they are trying to do spot repairs in various locations but overall would hold off playing there again until in better shape.
Several great improvements, greens are only thing missing
I’ve been playing on a tooth several times per year since 2015. Recently they have made a ton of great improvements like the tooth course check-in area and re-numbering the holes. They also VERY recently added a few shades areas and benches throughout the course which were much needed.
Honestly the only thing missing on the tooth from being 5*’s all the way around are the greens. If they could get the greens to match what Panther/Crooked typically are, it’d be the best executive course I’ve ever played. But the greens typically roll around a 6-8 and are quite bumpy. I will say they ARE improved from about 2-3 years ago when the greens were almost not putt-able, so I have a lot of faith that they are headed in the right direction as they now seem to have really attempted to take the Tooth to the next level.
Under Maintenance
The entire facility is obviously under maintenance. Greens on Panther were top sanded recently and there are some issues with grass in a few fairways and around greens. All in all, still a great place to play and the staff are always great.
Great quality and value
The course layout was fun. Fairways are wide and open with plenty of tree, bunkers, water and other obstacles to keep it challenging. Pace of play was great and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Charged me for wife riding.
I wouldn’t play it again since they charged me for my wife to ride. 25 bucks.
Panther attacks
Panther Lake is a very enjoyable course to play. This time the pace of play was pretty slow. I think this is because of Crooked Cat being closed for maintenance. The Panther has teeth and it will bite you when you least it.
Going down hill
Used to be know for great conditions. Now the fairways are bare and the tee boxes are horrible. Seems to be consistent with all the courses these owners operate.
