Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge

My recent experience at this course was a mixed bag, with some positive moments overshadowed by disappointing service. Upon arriving at the drop-off area, the staff was prompt and courteous, assisting us with unloading our golf bags and directing us to the cart. The process was smooth, and we proceeded to park our car and check in at the pro shop without any issues.

However, things took a downturn after we settled into our cart. Our tee time was still 40 minutes away, so we waited for about half an hour, expecting some guidance or interaction from the staff. Unfortunately, the staff in front of the pro shop seemed disengaged, offering no information about the course, the practice range, or the putting green. They simply there, we felt ignore, which felt unwelcoming, especially for golfers unfamiliar with the facility. It wasn’t until we proactively asked about the tee box that we received any direction.

The course itself was well-maintained, with challenging, scenic, and to note couple long holes had “no cart rule” due to maintenance but the lack of proactive communication from the staff left a sour impression. For a golf course aiming to provide a great experience, I strongly recommend the staff take initiative to engage with players, especially new visitors, by offering basic guidance about the facility. A little hospitality goes a long way in making golfers feel valued. Overall, the course has potential, but the staff needs to step up to make the experience truly enjoyable.

The marshall at the 1st tee was very helpful, answered all our questions and gave us guide as to how navigate the course.

Course layout very green and good condition. Greens still a little sandy, fast - hard to read brakes but good. Tee box and fairways excellent.

Greens had recently been top sanded and were very inconsistent but to be expected this time of year. Some slow play groups had the entire course backed up and turned what would have been a relaxing 4 hour round into a five hour marathon. The course marshal tried several times to get things moving but to no avail. Not his fault. As usual, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Course in good shape, very challenging, fairways a bit spotty, but easy to find grass to hit off of. Greens really nice. Starter a bit grumpy, not a big deal. I'll be back!

Always great to play at Panthers Lake. One of the best in Central Florida 100%

Golf course was in really good shape. I played Panther Lakes. Greens had been punched 10 or 12 days before I played and had recovered nicely. You still see the small punch marks, but the grains are rolling, fairly true and fairly quickly. Tea boxes were in good shape., the pro shop staff was amazing, and they did have a beverage card rolling around as well all in all if you’re an Orange County resident, you should take advantage of this place

The course was in very good condition. Challenging lies and elevation changes. A must play course when you are in the Orlando area.

A lot of the tees and greens are burnt out. The greens were punched with many punch holes without sand. It was over a 4.5 hour round on a Friday. When asking the ranger for help, our group was yelled at and told this is what we should expect. “4.5 hours is fine” all while we had 3 groups on one hole and the group behind us leaving the green.

Really enjoyed Panther Lake. I played by myself but had a wonderful time. The course, is in great condition. Super challenging, greens are a little tough to read, but that's a mark of a good course. Definitely coming back!

Panther lake had just been aerated and I was not informed of this fact. Greens had aeration holes all over and ball could not roll smoothly at all. I wish this information was listed upon booking or I would have made other arrangements. I would have expected some discounted pricing for a course in this condition. Second course was closed and part of driving range was closed. None of this info was listed upon booking !! Just be honest with these situations and let customers know this key information prior to booking this course!
