One of My Favourites
If I begin by saying that the condition of the fairways was not as good as it could be - not enough players repair divots for instance - this should not detract from an otherwise excellent venue.
The pace of play was brilliant - midday tee-off in a three-ball took just over 3.5 hours, even allowing for hold-ups on the back nine. The greens were perfect, as were the bunkers.
It is great to come back here and play - thankfully I did not leave a club behind this time!
Better a couple weeks ago.
The course has really taken a turn from a couple of weeks ago when we played. The fairways were thin, weedy, and bare in a lot of areas. You can tell they were trying to resod some areas, but not all. If I had known the conditions had turned to this, we would have booked somewhere else. Not worth the $70 we paid.
Sparce fairway lies
This track has several approach shots that need to carry water and bunkers. Very tight or barren lies make a high and soft shot more difficult. Played with a low handicap college guy that had difficulty creating that type of shot. He had at least two plugged lies in the fairway off the tee.
Great course
Overall, great venue. Some greens were rough. Bar closed at 5 on a Friday…we were not happy about that. Starter was not as friendly as we had hoped.
Great challenge
Great course for really below average players to get better. No real dangerous holes for losing balls at all. Unless you're a slicer, no course can help you anyway. But played horrible my first time there. But will be back definitely!!
Great Facility but could use an Active Ranger
Love, love, love this golf facility and will make it a point to come play Panther Lake and Crooked Cat when in Orlando.
Both challenging courses in great shape and a great deal for your $.
Only recommendation is that they have an active ranger on the courses as play lately has slowed down to unacceptable standards. Last week we literally waited 25minutes on a hole to tee off. Insane.
Nice course
It was nice but there were a good bit of thin or dead areas that could have used more water. They made me pay 25 dollars for my wife to ride so I won’t be playing there again. They didn’t charge me in the past so she came with me again
Amazing course just hurting right now.
This is an amazing course, the layout and facilities are amazing. I have played here before and it was impeccable. This time however, the conditions were pretty rough with a lot of the farewayes bare and patchy.
Would still recommend the course though.
Amazing Experience!
First time on the grounds and was blown away. The driving range was amazing, practice putting green amazing, then the course (panther) is a professional track, so what else to say there? The staff was so helpful and ranger even checked in to make sure I was enjoying my time. I will do everything I can to make it back and play the other track. If you are in the area, Orange County is a must!
Very Disappointed….
Fairways! Worst I’ve ever seen them on the Panther side. Tell me about the drought we’ve had. That everyone has had but doesn’t look like this. Just can’t imagine the excuse they’d use to get to this point.
Love this course
This course is my home for the last 11 years, and they always take care of the course.
Great place to play
May 2025
Everything was very nice. The staff all very plesant. The range eas in good shape. I used the practice sand trap. The course was in nice shape. The greens about a 9-10 for speed and rolled true.
Ugh!
Fist ball was in the air at 12:03pm. We hit hole #13 at 4:18pm. We left at that point, but probably should have left after 9 holes. The ranger came by a few times and was very cordial, letting us know that he was doing his best. As we were driving from 13 to the clubhouse, I became skeptical of his response due to a foursome that had 2 open holes in front of them, and a twosome with the same. I understand it was a holiday weekend, but when there are 3 groups on one hole and a total of 4 open holes in front, I’m speculating that not everything was being done to monitor pace of play. To add salt on the wounds, the fairways were in atrocious condition. Now I understand why the LIV Tour goes there! Lol!
The course has a very good layout, but the conditions were a 2 out of ten and pace of play was a zero out of 10. Unfortunately, it will be a very long time before I play there again. I’m not suggesting that the course should be avoided, but if you feel like wasting 6 hours on a poorly conditioned course…by all means, go play it. I personally would rather stay home and do yard work.
Nice Course Needing TLC
OCN Panther Trace is an interesting layout. It can play to any level of difficulty depending on the tees you choose. The course was in decent shape. The tees, greens and fairways had some turf issues probably due to the heavy play it receives. Overall it was in good shape. Pace of play was a bit slow which might have been due to the other course being closed causing this one to be heavily booked. I would play here again.
Very good, but not excellent.
Free range balls, great people, awesome pro shop and clubhouse. I played on a hot deal. I wouldn't pay more. Nice, but far from excellent.
The fairways and greens were great. The rest of the course was a bit torn up. Lots of yellow spots where they're killing weeds. Large areas off the course and in between holes that were being cleared out. I know, you don't play there, but it just looked like a construction zone. Lakes and ponds are now grass and brush.
