Saddlebrook Resort
About Saddlebrook Resort
Since 1981, Saddlebrook Resort has been a go-to-destination for golfers, located just 30 miles north of Tampa International Airport. The resort's two original Arnold Palmer designs are being redesigned in 2025 into a 27-hole combination by Rees Jones. This entirely new playing experience will pair with a new 13-acre practice facility, home to a two-sided range, and golf school to engage golfers. A world-class tennis facility is another major attraction of this resort. A sweeping $92 million transformation will reimagine the 451-room resort from the ground up – positioning it among the nation’s premier leisure and sports resorts.Facts

Saddlebrook
Saddlebrook is always a great course to play. Everyone is very friendly and it is very challenging.
Go Play
The course is in excellent condition. Greens are perfect! Go play now!!!
Course conditions
Course conditions were fair to poor. The greens had pits and spots all over along with crab grass. Fairways had clippings in clumps stopping roll on the fairways.
New Home Course
Fine
Course is nice, well kept. Pace of play was quite enjoyable. Parking and getting your clubs set up on your cart is a hassle. Same when returning the cart. Zero water coolers, and never saw an on course drink vendor during play. Paid just under $60, might consider again for a deal around $40.
Amazing 👏
I played the Saddlebrook side before First time playing Palmer and I absolutely loved it! A+ perfect conditions. Looking forward to playing again 🙂
Love this course
Greens a little choppy around the cups. Pin placements could be positioned in healthier parts of greens.
Could Be Better
Played today. Staff very friendly! No water on the course at all. No bathrooms either. Prepare yourself accordingly in these exceptionally hot days! Most greens ok. Some greens had some big holes and crabgrass growing on them. Rough is extremely high and very hard to find your golf ball if you go off the fairway. Our group lost 10-15 golf balls in the rough. Just ridiculous! Not sure if we’ll be back anytime soon. Course needs water jugs set up on the course. Also, need restrooms.
Best in Tampa ? .. maybe so
Since I've played all the top courses in the Tampa Bay area I am asked which is best ? ..well .. World Woods was #1 before Cabot bought it and now it's under construction and not open ... Saddlebrook/Saddlebrook is now the #1 Public Golf Course in Tampa Bay and vicinity . The facility and course conditions are magnificent and even if you didn't play golf and just to rode around Saddlebrook is worth the day out . The course is lined with the most magnificent trees in all of Florida and no other course in Tampa Bay is so awesome just to be on . PLAY this course and you'll see why Saddlebrook/Saddlebrook is the #1 Course in all Tampa and you'll thank me later .. P.S - The Palmer Course at Saddlebrook is not this review so remember to book Saddlebrook-Saddlebrook ONLY !!!
Wet
The course overall was in good condition, 1st issue was we had to walk from the valet to the pro shop. When we loaded the cart we were not told it was cart path only. Twice the cart shut off and we had to push it back to the path. There was no drink cart and the concession area after the ninth wasn't open. We got caught in a bad storm and there was no shelter.
Great Condition!
Golf course is tough, but everything was in great conditions what made it very enjoyable.
Not anytime soon
I don't think this course is worth playing until the renovations have been completed. From taking a shuttle to get to the resort to the pro shop not having my reservation to the rough being unplayable to the large crabgrass patches on the greens, it was a disappointment. Not the resort course I remember
